Personally, I love all the different vocal styles that the singer pulls off on the album (successfully, I may add). To me, showing a wide range of abilities is way more impressive - and heavy - than just sticking to gutterals 24/7. Mr. Singer of Shokran, keep doing your thing, don't listen to the haters, and please keep up the versatile vocals! :)
@scummywyrm9 жыл бұрын
Devin Odell "Successfully"? Nah, that's just like, your opinion, man.. If you look at the comments, his clean vocals haven't gotten much positive reception. I agree that displaying a wide vocal range is a good thing at times when it flows with the instrumentals. In this case and according to the opinions of many, the clean vocals just mar the elaborate and heavy air the instrumentals convey.
@devinodell9499 жыл бұрын
Luis Valladares Props for the Big Lebowski quote :P But yeah, I read a bunch of the comments hating on the singer for his cleans not vibing with the instrumental, but guess what? I don't care what other people think. You're right, it is merely my opinion that the cleans actually complement the instrumentals nicely. I just wanted to offer my opinion to the band to encourage them, instead of putting them down like everyone else. Sue me
@scummywyrm9 жыл бұрын
Your opinion matters to them, I'm sure. It gives them the sign that they're doing something right. I didn't mean to imply otherwise, sorry if it seemed that way. But for their own sake, for the sake of remaining relevant, they should value the majority's constructive criticism. Doing so does wonders for the creative arts.

I haven't written any comment since I'm using so far but upon seeing all those comments about the vocals I had to push myself to respond. I'm glad there is an instrumental version of this album, after all the music here is just perfect. On the other hand, I'm extremely glad to listen to the original version - with the vocals as well. I'm not a metal music expert, I'm a simple bloke who's listening to bands like Shokran, Persefone, Amon Amarth, Echoes of the Moon, Heathen Foray, Graveworm and many many more beloved ones. I'm surprised to see so many negative comments on the vocals of Shokran. They're highly experimental and use all types of vocals in their work, in all - in my opinion successful and adding a lot to their music. Especially the deep, heavy growl is exceptional - deep, strong and powerful. I wish I could growl the same :) Not only in relation to the voice itself but how he plays with it, adopts to the music, which in this case is not an easy job to be done. Anyway, to make the long story short, thank you Shokran for your music, it's great to listen to you and I'm hoping to see you live sometime!

I've got to say that clean vocals to fit instrumentals as complex as this is actually extremely difficult. The fact that they can fit such vocal melodies so well in with the riffs is extremely talented and nothing to be sneezed at. I personally think that they are quite good, but even for those who don't, you have to give them credit for the ability to actually fit them so well

About the only thing that makes this band ANYTHING like BOO is the esoteric/arcane themes in the album imagery and some of the ambient exotic keyboard stuff. THAT IS IT. Otherwise, the two bands are completely different from each other. If anything they sound a bit like Betraying The Martyrs...Even then, they still sound nothing like BTM. People should just calm down and enjoy bands and stop complaining that they all are influenced by each other in some way. On another note, new awesome band discovery! :D

Esoteric Metal bands and underground rap have some of the most truly enlightened people producing beautiful allegorical artwork. I can not say the same for the vast majority of the fans. Stop fighting with the other prisons in the cage, you self-absorbed narcissists.
