Never heard someone explain the figers being to far wrapped around. Makes total sense. Great videos.

Great breakdown. I appreciate the locked out wrist. I never thought of it that way: where the sights come back to their original alignment due to the wrist being bottomed out.

Yep, being able to shoot fast relies heavily on the sites returning to the same position. The grip has everything to do with that.

1:07 into video this is 110% true. Whenever I am high left (I am right handed) my fingers are to far around grip. During dry fire I get in to far on draw when warming up. Picking up from table almost never happens it’s harder to get fingers to far around when picking up from table. Thanks man! Your videos rock.

Thanks man. I'm really not sure why this isn't more commonly known but it's very weird that everybody falls in line on the hole How far your fingers in the trigger guard idea.

Also. In your previous grip video you discussed the "bow grip". Although not mentioned in this video, I thought that was a great line of thinking.

Yeah, I wanted to keep this one short and I know not everyone has shot a bow and arrow so they wouldn't necessarily understand that one. Plus I know almost every other grip video touches on aligning your forearm/wrist with the slide. Essentially it's the same idea but I use the bow and analogy because it makes the most sense to me.

Ended up dry firing this method last night and I honestly think this was the missing piece for me. Once in awhile, I would push my primary hand fingers away from the grip with my support hand because I'd try to wrap my fingers as far back as possible if that makes any sense. I didn't have one instance of that happening while dry firing last night. I also get way more of the palm of my hand on the backstrap even though I have gnome sized hands. I have to put way less effort and strength into getting a far more solid grip. It even works for SHO/WHO too. Thank you for this video. Also been using agility sticks after watching your videos during live fire practice sessions too. Two thumbs up dude.

I'm glad it helped. Just focus on the sites and that they are not moving during your trigger pull.

i must of watched this video half a dozen times before i gave it an earnest try in my dry fire sessions. its all super true and accurate. adjusting my fingers by pulling them out and around the frontstrap more/ moving the heel of my palm over the backstrap was the key to more stable trigger pulls, and letting off of the tension in my firing hand. thanks! would be interested to know how you practice the proper intensity of grip in dry fire. and also i find i have to really concentrate on some upward pressure with my support hand beneath the trigger guard in order not to get dip. is there another way to prevent this without that kind of support hand backstop you think?

I have designed the 320 Lockwood to not have that dip you are taking about. That is an issue I found prevalent in the 5in pistols mostly or with shooting 147gr. Bullets.

I noticed in a older video you had the gas pedal. In this one you don’t.. reason? I keep going back and forth but really feel I shoot better without. Like to hear your thoughts! Thanks for the great content.

Yeah I've got this question before. I tried it out thinking it would help my index. However, I found out I would inadvertently put thumb pressure on it. This caused my sights to go offline instead of track straight up and down while shooting a string of fire. My return to zero wasn't consistent so I got rid of it.

If you pull your fingers back, is there a gap on the right side of the grip/right palm?
@isaaclockwood1839
@isaaclockwood1839 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, my strong hand has a gap on the right side of the pistol. That gap is less than once I apply my non-dominant hand over it to create the side to side pressure.

dang, I shoot low left and never considered my strong hand fingers pulling my muzzle off.

I figured it out after comparing pistol shooting to shooting a bow. Same mechanics basically.
