We are getting our Hoyt bows dialed in for the season here at the Easton Archery Center in Salk Lake City, Utah. Isaac had his camera which shot 960 FPS so we messed around for a bit capturing some archery shots in slow motion. Enjoy! #BestSeasonYet #Archery

Had the bow set up at a pro shop. It performed just fine kzfaq.infoUgkxQEKUoxLWwayEDZR0NKB-5limn4MBU-2L . And I would say this is a good starting now that I could pass down to my son when he is older.But the package was missing the release and a nock was missing from one arrow.Dealing with customer support was terrible. They suggested I buy a new release rather than correct their own quality control issue because it’s to expensive for the. to ship it out from China.Update: manufacturer got back to me and resolved the issue. I retract the above statement.

I personally don't like to use sight tapes based on speed. I have found the best luck marking a blank one and then comparing that to the tapes to find the right one! Archers advantage app gets you dang close too.

I'm shocked by how much the sights and rests "wiggle" in slow motion. I'm guessing the flex is more associated with energy dissipation through the riser, but to me, it speaks to the importance of having quality, well-machined, low-tolerance accessories. I imagine more cheaply made accessories incur more wear more quickly given all the vibration.

I love the videos and everything you guys stand for. If you don't mind, may I lend a hand with your sight tape? I shoot Black Gold Sights too. Use the UNO App. You can't use the chronograph speed of your bow to pick the sight tape, it simply will not work. The App has you measure from your Pins to your peep and from your peep to center of arrow. And of course your speed. It accounts for drag too but you have to select vanes or feathers to get it to make the adjustment. You fine tune the speed, measurements just need to be rounded to the closest decimal. It will PERFECTLY set your pin gap and select the PERFECT Sight tape by giving you the number you need for bow taking in account the speed and the measurements taken. Hope this helps you guys. We use this here in Vernal, Utah and it's flawless. *example* one of the speeds chronographed was 290 but the actual sight tape needed was 282. Good luck and God bless.

I’m not one to question how someone else does archery but I haven’t seen a compound with a draw like yours. We always press it to somewhere on our face which we can find every time for more accuracy. I do shoot bare bow though so it could be a compound thing I don’t know about.

It is so awesome to see the flex of the arrow when you did the slow motion videos. Looks like you guys are having fun! You guys should be starting your sight in with a blank sight tape. Once you get your 30,40,50 figured out, you shoot a group at 30 with your slider pin, then shoot at 60 with your slider till you have them dialed in. Then pick the factory tape that matches your gap. That’s how I sighted in my pure gold 5 pin last year. Worked great!!

It looks like some arrow rest falls down way to fast. Like the leftys one. The arrow barely passes one third of its length before the rest falls. I believe that timing needs some improving to make the rest guide the arrow longer.

Never once have I needed an arrow puller. My 3d bow is shooting 293 fps and hunting bow 291 through the chrono. Xpedition bows and Goldtip arrows. Here's the trick to pulling arrows. Grab it with both hands, give it a clockwise twist to break it loose, then pull the arrow with a clockwise twist. I've shot many different targets. The worst ones to pull arrows from are 3d targets with brand new inserts. Again, I have never needed an arrow puller. And that's coming from a guy who is a buck60. Also keep in mind, for educational purposes, arrows that are camo dipped will be harder to pull than an arrow without any extra graphics.

@scottlandb6579
@scottlandb6579 6 жыл бұрын
basehorhonda not sure about that I gotta a pure 5 pin bottom pin floater & my sight tape is spot on at 292 fps, 350 victory tko, 28” draw length. Funny thing though I gotta buddy with same sight but a shorter draw length who has issues with tape as well - out past 60. So I wonder if it’s something to do with shorter draw lengths, shorter arrow length, arrow size, weight, etc that changes the velocity & creates inconsistencies in arrow placement on target at longer distances. However my tape is accurate as fuk.

What is the point of shooting like this? Compound bows, sights, slow shooting. I don't get it. Shortbows, quick shots, quick loads that is what fascinates me about archery. This seems like a terrible excuse for a gun. I don't mean to be disrespectful, but aside from a social event what do you all find so interesting about this type of shooting?
