I'd really love to hear your thoughts on this one, good or bad. Fire away haha

Thanks very much. Perhaps a bit overexposed. What you call a mountain seems a bit washed out. A darker part of the bridge in the left bottom might have added contrast. But I am not an expert on mountain photography. Perhaps because I I see them every day, some even white in August. If there are mountains in my shots, my aim is to capture the human activity there. If in colour, their bright outfits. Correct exposure is difficult in bright conditions. For B&W, an orange or dark yellow filter works wonders. I have very satisfying results with a pol filter. But I am talking about 1500m and higher.

Yeah I would agree there, it certainly was a tricky one to meter. I would like to try some color filters with B&W at some point just haven't got around to it yet but I have seen some nice results.

Ace project 🤓👍 For me I think the composition needed to be higher so less of left pillar in shot, just like the top of it to show some depth. Exposure for me is over, I'd have exposed for the mountain and let the shadows do what they want, maybe added contrast to darken them off a bit anyway, not caring for the shadow detail. The bright snow on the road would have still given some interest too, the main focus of the shot would be the mountain for me. Brill vid and photos though, looking forward to the 35mm results. 🤓👍

Thanks Spencer appreciate it. I think I agree there, the only thing was the higher I went the more space there was left in the sky and I felt the balance was off even more with that composition haha Exposure wise it was a tricky one, I didn't really want the silhouette look and even with my exposure there were still areas that were very dark you know. I agree with the bright snow on the road I did have that in mind too, maybe I will photograph it again at some point. Cheers for sharing your thoughts though, the 35mm results make for an interesting comparison that's all i'll say haha

After seeing the scans I probably would have went slightly darker with the exposure but I also really didn't want a silhouette style photo so it was tricky you know.

My son..you are on right track with medium format but unfortunately you are new generation and don't know how to work with film cameras..you need a very good hand meter and neutral density filter to fotograph complex lighting..

I definitely need a proper hand meter that's for sure. I do understand the process of using filters etc for complex scenes like this, I just don't have a filter to try it with... yet lol
