Get an extraction fan with a light block on it and then stick a low down vent and a fan in there....with setting up darkrooms in garages in Australia in the past and temperatures at about 40 I learnt some tricks

Lovely shots. Simple, no nonesense, as photography should be. None of that iso 32000, 2500 focus points and two dozen hairy armpit focus mode.

Thanks for the Holga shout out! I have 3 and always pack one on vacation with a primary RF or SLR. Gives me the option for medium format without the added camera weight and I always get 5 or 6 good sharp shots out of the roll. Plus, you can get funky with multiple exposures.

Well worth the effort on that driftwood image, definitely a wall hanger. Have you got Don McCullin's The Landscape? It's a HUGE, excellent quality coffee table book, full of his black and white (mostly British) landscapes. We'll worth the money, plus a lot of the images have been made in his home county of Somerset. Inspirational. Catch his landscape video on KZfaq.👍

I wonder what it would be like to live next to the ocean for scenic photos. All I have to take photos of is corn and soybean fields. We have a few muddy ditches too. Can't forget the local woods, however. That's infested with assault mosquitos.

Several years ago there was a story floating around the film world that Fuji had licensed Ilford technology to make it's Neopan 100. Acros 100 is in turn supposedly an updated version of Neopan. I don't know how true this is, and it seems crazy to let your competition use your trade secrets, but that's the story.

Nice piccies as usual, Roger. Hey, I reckon you should have a go at making your own photo book :) You've got plenty of great pics to put in one and it'd sell pretty well if you wanted to put any on Etsy :) I just got my first photo book back from the printers and it turned out pretty good!!. It's a first go and any further books I decide to make will only get better. But, I'm happy with it as it is.

Great looking print Roger love the Zeiss and that holga looks interesting. I’m currently absolutely hooked on two old folders the Ikonta M and the Bessa II can’t get enough of them 📷❤️

I have a Holga as well. It takes the best of pics, it takes the worst of pics. But seriously, with good film, it takes some really interesting photos, if you're OK with the vignetting and soft focus. I shot a roll of Lomography's LomoChrome Metropolis in it and they looked terrible. They looked like they were taken by a 5-year-old in about 1955. Of course, that could have been because of the photographer! I have some HP5 rolls coming in the post, so I may run one through my Holga, rather than my Yashica.

The shore and the white cliffs remind me of the beach in Normandy where I was some weeks ago. I also took some B&W images, however, the film is waiting for development. Hope to get great results. Thx for sharing.

I havs a Durst M601 from eBay on the way, plus a Schneider 75mm enlarger lens & a 50mm Hoya comes with it, so I can now develop & print 120 roll film and 35mm. I have to black out the kitchen window and I'm good to go, will make a 40" x 56" 6mm plywood shutter which should do it. I last developed and printed (35mm) in the 1990's. I have a Paterson / Meopta Paragon 35mm enlarger which I will sell

Amazing video as always! Very informative and it shows you that you can get beautiful photographs from the most basic of cameras! I have a question, why did you choose to lay the negative bent instead of turning the easel? Beautiful as always!

Either way Abdulla. Sometimes it's easier to see the horizon on the lightbox rather than on the easel.

Used a cut length of outdated Kodak BW400CN 'Chromogenic Film' in MY ZEISS NETTAR the other day - got ONE good frame to show taken from waist level in High Street 'guessing ' a Candid -- others had a bit of Light Leak -- maybe the bellows leak is coming back again --

Hi Roger...I'm just in the process of reawakening a Nettar myself. I think mine must be an early version as the cable release is still on the lens. It was great to see you using yours. Early in the vid you mentioned that you forgot your rangefinder...can you enlighten me on what that is/does?

Sure Grant. It's a small attachment that fits on the cameras hot shoe. You look through it, rotate a dial and when the two images (your scene) come in line you read the distance on the rangefinder and set your cameras distance on the lens to match. Mine is a ROWI rangefinder. Have a Google

Do you prefer a condensor or a diffuser on your enlarger light source?

I've only ever used a condenser. The colour heads for that enlarger are diffused.

As for the aperture settings on a Holga, I'm under the impression they don't really control the exposure, but more like control the vignette. f/8 (cloudy) seems to have a much less noticeable vignette than f/11 (sunny) but the exposure isn't all that different.

@@ShootFilmLikeaBoss you have blades in your Holga!? I'll check mine once I finish the roll, but I'm pretty sure mine doesn't have any blades. When I throw the switch it just moves a piece o plastic with a smaller hole in it into the optical path. The problem is this piece of plastic is not in the lens itself, but far behind it, effectively working more like flag then an aperture. I guess I'll just have to take two identical shots, differing only in the position of this switch to make sure I'm not talking rubbish. :)

I observed some minor corrosion on your enlarger equipment, e.g. filter holder. Is this caused by the climate in the shed?

Yes that chrome stem has been in a box in the darkroom for years through all seasons. I put it on the enlarger when I got those under lens filter holder. Only un painted metal such as screw heads and rods get a bit surface rust, which I generally strip and clean. Lenses and condenser comes indoors after a session. The enlarger stays in there
