Today I am opening up a bag of jewelry from shop goodwill. Also in this video I will be showing you how I test silver and gold with acid and how I test amber with a black light.

Just catching up on your videos! This is the BEST bluebox I have seen so far! I LOVE this type of stuff over fashion jewelry any day :) Great video! Also the pins from the grey box are super collectible so you should list them on eBay or platforms that more men would shop on and they will sell quick!

This was an amazing bag of jewelry! I agree with what someone else said, that Tiffany pin is valuable, it will sell to a Tiffany collector or someone that worked at that hotel, I would do that one as an auction! You should test the earrings with the dried flowers again, I may have missed it but it looked like you only tested the hook and not the earring itself.

I’m receiving my third Thredup DIY 5 pound jewelry box on Wednesday🤞🏼🤗.. I’m hoping it’s a good one, so far they have been pretty good🤗.. I might try another goodwill jewelry blue box again, my first one wasn’t all that great, but I’ll give it a second shot🤗

Hello! What I do on shop goodwill is I try and scroll in on the pictures to see if I can spot something that catches my eye. If I don’t see something interesting I don’t buy it. That’s what I do but it’s definitely still hit or miss. Thank you for watching!

Thank you! Shop goodwill is more expensive for the most part. Every once in awhile you can get lucky with an auction that doesn’t get bid up too much but generally it’s more expensive. This lot was around $50.

The box with all of the pins might have been owned by a man who maybe has passed away, but if that is the case, I wonder why the family didn’t keep the pins? Unless they weren’t that important?

Which liquid do you use to test silver?

What makes it vintage?

There’s a few things I look at to determine that, but keep in mind I’m not an expert. It’s all just my opinion. I look at style, materials used, the wear of an item. Each decade from the past has a certain style of jewelry. Look very closely at the materials used. Metals could have a tarnish, patina, or verdigris. Yellowing or discoloration on the threads, beads or glues used. Certain clasps or materials that aren’t used for jewelry making anymore. Look for marks or makers. Designers that made jewelry during a particular time frame or maybe designers who aren’t even alive anymore. Those are just a few things I notice right away but if it’s not obvious I research.
