People underestimate the amount of skill a good streamer angler has to have. Mending, casting accuracy, awareness of current speed and depth across an angle is all part of the game. How you fly moves and looks at the different angles of presentation is critical. Love the game! 9ft5wt rod with a OPST commando smooth line lets you adjust your presentation endlessly! And most of my flies are 2.5".

Great tips for the wading angler. Sounds like a sink tip is a good line for me since I primarily wade fish. I think one thing that is frequently overlooked according to Galloup when using the jerk strip or vertical jigging method is to fish shorter distances, 30’ max. also, as soon as you lose control of your fly stop the retrieve and start the next cast. One more thing that’s to note is the type of rod you were using for the jerk strip, you should have an extra fast tip rod to help you set the hook and manipulate fly, similar to what you do with spinning gear. I’m new to all this so by all means I’m not super experienced with all these methods, this is just info I have read and listened to and I am working on testing it out for myself. Honk!

Hey out of curiosity.. when u Guys go on a trip where u have to hike out to the spot.. how many rods n reels or different spools are u guys hiking in? Bc most of what uv been saying is based on thr techniques ur going to use.. but when u want to switch it up, do u try to have another rod spooled and ready to go? Or do u guys really quickly snip ur lines, reel up n switch everything out? Thanks again n please keep the shop talk videos coming.

The regular Cheech Leech is the biggest thing i've ever caught fish with on the provo. However the min cheech leech sized streamers work better.

I've only been fly fishing a couple years and have absolutely fallen in love with streamers. Now that i've reached a small measure of proficiency I think I can handle a tandem streamer rig. How long of a tag end do you leave off the tippet ring for the 2nd streamer? Great videos, BTW.

Proper casting form for streamers is so important. Frequently see a streamer end up getting hooked in the human vs the fish. Maybe should of discussed the techniques to get the hook out of your buddy.....Be careful out there...

Great job, Gents! Question for Lance, why do you choose a 10' #6 weight for streamers? I also use that length and weight, but it's because it's my Stillwater rod and the only #6 I own. I am just curious to hear your thoughts on why you like it.
