Do NOT take a pic until you’ve physically tried the outfit on. I’ve done this so many times only to grab it to throw on when I’m a rush and find out it doesn’t look good together ON me lol.

I am 43 so I do it without the cell phone. I just lay down on my bed and imagine different outfits. Sometimes I get up to see if they will actually match if l’m not sure. Sometimes I fall asleep.😂😂😂😂😂

I would absolutely recommend trying your outfits on before you take a picture of them. Sometimes its hard to now whether the clothes will fit together when wearing them. :)

90% of my clothes are jeans and t-shirts so I've realized that I just need to get better clothes. 😅

I lay out my clothes for each day when I travel. Layering is the key. I could be going to a party one day and sitting in the car for hrs the next day. I make sure I pick similar colors so I can mix and match my accessories and shoes so save space in my travel bag.

For the first tip, I do it all on my phone with Smart Closet. It saves a lot of time and when I get bored, I just mix stuff up on there. It also allows you log outfits on your calendar so you know if you're repeating stuff :)

And you have to deal with all the mess you left behind afterwards 😂

I think this is a good idea especially for people who work in office and have to have their work clothes picked out for the week I can just take pictures of all the work clothes I put together and go from there makes it easier to get dressed in the morning

Good idea. I think I would do all tops at once, while the bottoms are all out, then do all bottoms with all the tops laid out, and a separate round for dresses. If there’s time, I would try each outfit on to make sure it really does work well.🙂

I tried using one of those apps that let you make outfits. It's easier than doing the outfit lay out session you mentioned in the long run. The app helps me think outside the box. Plus I can just be in bed and not make a complete mess of my room and closet lol 😂. ( I don't enjoy trying on clothes. I'm so glad when KZfaqrs do the work and record their outfit combinations! ) The negative is that you have to photograph your items if you use the app. For trips I take pics of outfits I try on but I have to physically try on the combinations. Some things work in theory lying on the bed, but don't work on my body. Great tips! TFS 😊

Great ideas, Erin! Am going to try this approach with items like a silk skirt that was tailor-made for me when I worked in Cambodia. Great video! I do advice#1 when I purchase an new item. I have a small wardrobe so I try to make sure the new addition can mix and match with other clothing.

A huge pointer I have is taking a daily outfit of the day photo, so that if you're stuck on ideas, you can repeat a bomb outfit and rule out outfits you didn't enjoy. It can also show you which pieces aren't being used

Thank you very much for your video and advice! My whole life I've been praised for dressing nice, trendy or trendsetting. Over the last 22 years I have evolved from being a straight male to being a bi crossdresser to now I am transitioning m2f. I am relearning how to live. I get frustrated when I don't know if 2 items match in color cuz I'm slightly RBG colorblind. I never thought to keep pictures of made outfits. Normally I'll only take a pic of my clothes to send it to a non colorblind friend to ensure I'm not thinking I'm in all blue when really I'm a hodgepodge of blue and purple and fuscia and who knows what else lol So again, thank you. This is great! I’ll have to give this a shot. What I do is I have a board on my Pinterest called “outfits in my closet”. I pin outfits that have similar articles I already own! Really helps me get ready in the mornings! Xo

This is way easier with an app called Stylebook. Take photos of all your clothes and then you can match up way easier without pulling out your whole wardrobe every time you do this!

Mixing things on the bed always looks good, but on the body it looks totally different. Need to try things on to get a real idea of how things sit together as it is very deceiving unless you have a perfect body and everything looks the same on you as it does on the bed
