I remember getting Cable Internet for the first time ever. I think it was less than a megabit per second? Went to a bestbuy, was browsing, saw the XBOX Live starter kit, grabbed it and showed it to my dad, then went to a kiosk they had and set up for Earthlink Internet that went through Time Warner lines at the time. Time warner had to come out and run WHOLE NEW LINES for it because they were so old (cost was on them). I remember hooking it up to my XBOX in my room, connected to my little 20" flatscreen tv, mom and dad was sitting on my bed watching me set it up and then watched me play my first game ever with whatever demo it came with.

While every console generation up until that point was exciting and unique in their own way, the sixth generation was probably the peak of classic console gaming. I liked the seventh generation, too, but I feel like that's when we started to see the gradual shift to digital gaming and other trends that are so prevalent now. I know I have my nostalgic bias, but I was in middle school when the PS2, original Xbox and GameCube were all in full swing, so I felt like I was at an age where I could truly appreciate the fun gameplay and stories to all those great games at the time, while not having to deal with the stresses of grown-up life. Oh well...at least now, in 2024, the World, and video games, as a whole, are just as good as they were back then, in 2002...LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Joking, obviously, because every single one of those things now, in 2024, are a complete f**king joke, especially the World, as a whole. Hard to believe, back then, and prior to that, too, game Companies actually had to complete a game, before they could release it, and when you purchased a game, you had a complete game in your hands, a game that you would be able to play 20 years later, if you wanted to, and if you had the hardware to do so. The Internet has caused game Companies to become extremely lazy, to rely on that source to complete their games, after you've purchased them, and when they should already be completed, before they're even released, in the first place. Completely insane to realize that 20 years from now, no one will be able to enjoy any games after the 360, PS3, and Wii era, and all because there will be no servers still up and running, to install/download/update complete games anymore. Kinda sad, to be honest.

I'd just be happy if they would go back to actually having to complete games, before they were released, and not have to rely on the Internet for anything, at all. It should, however, and most definitely, too, be there for others to enjoy, or even if they prefer it, but it should not be there for these lazy mofos to finish their games. Lol. 🙂👍
