Dave, a clear old bottle with manganese in the glass mixture won't turn amber. It will turn purple over time when exposed to strong sunlight. But it takes awhile. As far as I know ( and I've been collecting antique bottles for close to 50 years) no clear bottle will turn amber.

8:46 I see comments of people urging you to get something. Kinda funny. The market is well over by the time you read the comments. Still.... I find myself mentally saying.... get the sun purpled bottle, get the sun purpled bottle. Glass that contains manganese, that's left in sun will turn purple (not amber). Some like it, some don't. My favorite example is a oil lamp that must've sat in a window. Can be done (and overdone) with UV blacklight but that devalues the glass.
