I'd rather start with a base unit. It's a big investment and I think the comparable prices after a custom build are about the same but the custom build meets all your desires.

I owned a STO and didn’t realize how cheaply they’re made. Start with a chassis and keep it simple 100%.

It’s true though, I owned a STO and was very unhappy for many reasons. I bought an empty chassis and kept it smart and simple.
