Short hair install of double ended dreadlocks

Yes, your hair sounds long enough to braid them in and this will hold longer than the method used in this video for short hair. We have more videos and information at www.dreadlocks.com.au.

Can you do this but instead of rubber banding them and it being temporary, actually crochet that little amount in with the dreads and make it more of a less “temporary” installation?

For how long do they last in that hair length?

Usually a week or two. If installed really well and your own hair tends to be a bit more textured versus soft a silky, you might get a bit longer but the longer your hair is the longer you can wear temporary dreadlocks.
