Flash Point History You said, "Let me know what you think- I'm always looking for an objective balanced eye." As enjoyable as your videos were, I couldn't help but wince at times. As you said you would be, you were 'Snarky'. You were very snarky when it had anything to do with the Christian Crusaders. This was in extreme contrast as to how you described Mohammed and Muslims. You showed disdain for anything to do with Crusaders. And when it came to Mohammed and his followers, you were very respectful, even praising Mohammed and his followers. I'm subscribed to many (too many) history channels here on KZfaq. I'm sticking with you and can't wait to see what you say about Cortez and his conquest. I'm 53% Native American ( from the area of Mexico City and north of) 8% Iberian peninsula, and (?) a percentage of North Africa (berbers?).

Excellent point! I think it has to do with the idea that I’ve heard this story a lot in the past. Including books and video that portray both sides. Plus i went through a catholic grade school / highschool and Jesuit college / post college experience so I feel more comfortable poking fun at the Crusaders. Islam on the other hand is a learning experience - I’ve lived in and traveled to Islamic countries and took classes and read books, but I don’t have as much experience. I’ll keep your comment in mind as I progress as I strive to present a balanced view. Please continue to follow.

@@FlashPointHx Im a big fan of history and was going back to watch some crusade documentaries (most of which I've seen in the past) when I came across your videos. I felt I had come across a gold mine. The level of detail and explanation is award winning. The way you have narrated the turmoils of the kingdoms of Leon, castille, Navarre and Aragon is mind blowing. Why did the kings keep dividing the kingdoms into three to give to their sons. Knowing full well it will only lead to war 🤣. Please keep up the good work I'm willing to make contributions for your effort. The rise and collapse of the ottoman empire will do your skills justice. Take care

@@pablonush4261 Every time I read that a king would create a powerful kingdom and then divide it for his sons and had to roll my eyes. Yup there's another 50 years tagged on to the end date of the Reconquista. =)

Surreal how the crusaders managed to scare off armies much bigger then theirs...
@FlashPointHx
@FlashPointHx 5 жыл бұрын
Surreal - or just insanely lucky? The Crusaders picked THE perfect time to invade - the Islamic world couldn't have been more fractured. They were going to learn the hard way by the time of the Third Crusade what a concentrated and focused power the Muslims could be.

its because Seljuk relief forces weren't really aim to help their enemies(from civil war) Like Kerboga's army, it was a unified army like the crusades but Seljuk nobles betrayed to Kerboga. Later when the Seljuk authority began to stabilized, Seljuks showed their true strength like in Crusade 1101 and Battle of Harim

If I mentioned Huge - then I’d have to give the narrative that he arrived early cause he was shipwrecked and the Byzantine coast guard had to rescue him. And the he still had the gall to refer to himself as the king of kings and expect supreme recognition from the Emperor. Plus how he later ran away like a wuss. Had to keep the narrative short and to the point

I always could use help creating video, but it depends on how much you charge. I make it point to give video, music, and artwork credit in all my videos - along with a link in the description to an artist's homepage. Tell me what you have in mind and perhaps just email me: flashpointhistory@gmail.com

I would've preferred if you used a more neutral picture of the Niceean Council that does not include the Pope in the Middle. His title back then was more of a bishop. The later Patriarchies where established later. As an Orthodox it was herendous to see that image xD.

It reminds me of what I've seen in many Greek Orthodox Churches
@jokester3076
@jokester3076 4 жыл бұрын
The Orthodox believe that all patriarchs are the successors of St Peter and the apostles, they reject the Roman Catholic belief that the Pope of Rome is supreme pontiff and sole successor of st Peter. Prior to the great schism, the Pope of Rome was only considered chairman of the universal church “Primus inter pares” (first among equals) in the orthodox faith, after the great schism the ecumenical patriarch of Constantinople assumed the role of chairmanship over the Orthodox Church.
