@@YoungFlyz644 Except there is no average because the Americans didn’t really encounter tigers. The only encounter that we can draw from with any accuracy was that the tiger tank lost to a Sherman tank.

Wanna know something sad? From that range. Their Sherman could have done utterly Nothing to that Tiger. Shooting the Turret would be a Non-penetration or a Bounce and the front-facing Hull is too armored for their gun. It was a clear death from afar.

I think they were in a 75mm Sherman. If they were in the 76mm the tiger would have been penetrated after the first or second shot

No a Sherman equiped with the 76mm M1 cannon can absolutely knock out a Tiger from the front sides and rear at medium-long range you just need to not be seen because like the Tiger you are also vulnerable to its cannon fire.

At close range the Sherman 75mm could punch through a tiger, and the long barrelled 76mm would be destroying a tiger in a single shot. One of the issues with the (otherwise insanely good) tank fight in Fury.
