jonah kline Had it for 4 months or so now, it is lowerd with bigger rims than your "suppost" to have on it. So take that into consideration. But overall i love the car, its got PLENTY of power. 0 -60 in about 5.5. seconds and its 15 years old. Could probably be faster if it was manual. Would recommend, (unless its a silver convertible then dont because thats just a woman car.)

When it come to Mercedes ..old is better than new ...i drive a clk 320 my friend gave my his E500 to do some work on it ..i missed my CLK so much

Hi I bought a 2005 Clk320 as my first car in July and I could not be happier it's a great car it's slightly expensive to maintain but if you can afford it go for it and at least in the 2004-2009 generation the rear seats had good space not too sure about the 1998-2003 gen like this one.

snois2 Go to benzworld or mbforum to get an idea of what maintenance is like. Basically, if you want to get a European car, MB is probably the best when it comes to maintenance. Find a good Mercedes indy mechanic, or even better if you can DIY. If you go for the W208 chassis like this video, if the car has lived in snowy climate, check for corrosion on/around front spring perch. Models from '00 to '02, the speedometer LCD displays will eventually play up, showing random lines etc. Otherwise, it's oil changes, suspension bushings every around 100k miles, and electronics/sensors as they go. Transmission has about 2-3 problems that need addressing, but should then last 300k miles+ without needing a rebuild. If going with the W209 chassis like Jason Dryer has, go for MY2005 like him - reliability issues were sorted by then, and that's the last year you can get the 3.2L M112 V6 engine (it is a reliable engine and again should last many many miles before needing a rebuild if maintained properly, while the M272 V6s that come after it can be troublesome, like balancer shaft failure).

snois2 Would not buy this as your first car. You're just going to get yourself into debt because you're just starting out. You're better off getting a beater like a Cavalier and cutting your mechanical teeth on it, it's a forgiving car and the parts are cheap and it's a relatively easy car to maintain. If you're already familiar somewhat with mechanics and don't mind spending a weekend tending to your Benz... Go for it.

Yes, it should be near 80, a little bit above. If memory serves well, the radiator fan turns on at 95 degrees C.

i'm working at mercedes in germany and the only issue i know of is rust. if you remove the rust before it grows or even prevent it from starting you can easily hit 150 000-200 000 Miles. Only if you maintain the engine properly of course ;)

i said it could easily last 200 000 miles, that means it can last a lot longer if youre maintaining it properly, so dont call me retarted

88K is like new. Just check if it has been serviced well. Check also for rust on the edges of the doors and fenders and the key lock of the trunk. The engine is pretty much "bulletproof". Go for a manual if it's available.

Actually the the 99-00 had alot of issues....i would go 2002 and above. That is when they worked the bugs out

They are for the lumbar seat support. You can adjust them for tight or loose.

I bought myself a clk200 convertible (all black look), with 185.000 miles, still drives like new. Bought it for 1500 bucks. If anyone gets a chance to get a hold of one of these, don't hesitate, GET IT.
