I appreciate the free case..cheap or not. In a time where others are removing everything they give you extra. Its a good thing.

(Edit: Here I am 2 months later, and I finally purchased this phone. It is a durable, solid, top quality phone that rivals, and even beats the other severely overpriced flagships. It is the best value phone I have ever seen, or owned, and I'm not even exaggerating.) Remember, Linus, this is a flagship phone that sells for HALF the price of other flagships that KZfaqrs like you regularly worship. Cost still matters in this world. You used to be the guy who filmed videos in his kitchen and always appreciated good value. Now that you have all the tech in the world at your literal disposal... Please don't be that guy. The guy who starts getting eaten by his unlimited access to most products and technology, eventually becoming dismissive and sarcastic towards "lesser" brands. Frankly, you are starting to become that guy. That Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra? Most POWERFUL phone in the world with the BEST camera system in the world, for HALF the price of a Samsung - and you dismissed it like it was an effing joke. Can you imagine being an underdog company, creating the most powerful, and feature rich phone ever made, and selling it for HALF the price of other brands, only to be dismissed like that - by THE tech KZfaqr that everyone follows and loves. That's absolutely horrible. Now, this? We get it, you love Samsung. You love Pixels. But that's just your preference. All phones have bugs. A Samsung or a Pixel has a few bugs and it's all good. A Xiaomi has a few bugs and it's suddenly a huge negative. Really? Xiaomi literally, objectively makes the best phones in the world in terms of price to performance, and it has always connected with its fans on a deeper level than other "capitalist wh*re" brands with $1,400 flagships. Like I said - don't be that guy.

Man, Xiaomi talked so much about how they made an antibacterial case for the phone in light of what's happening in the world right now. And he didn't even notice it was antibacterial. This video seems really poorly made. He just took a phone he knew nothing about, glanced over some very big stuff and pushed it out for a quick view. You didn't even check the presentation. You looked over the specs very quickly and even have to get them repeat during the filming of the video because you kept forgetting them. Linus, you can make better content. Please, what is this? Research a bit, put more effort. This is not good

I have been avoiding Linus videos for some time. Decided to give it a chance since it's a product I'm interested in. 3 minutes through + reading the comments... You guys get the idea.

Linus I love you and all but you really came off as quite ignorant in this video. Some of the stuff you said was even straight up false on multiple occasions. Please, either do your research or avoid reviewing phones which you clearly deem "unworthy" the moment you hear their name. It only serves to increase the unjustified distrust the US market has for new devices, which is really hurting US consumers. From your reviews of Xiaomis or Oppos it is clear that besides reading out a spec sheet, if it ain't Pixel, Apple or Samsung, they basically don't exist in your world, other than for a quick side review as a bone to throw to your foreign audience. Between me and my family I've owned 5 Xiaomis all below 250$, except for my new Poco. My dad is a sales exec at an Al refinery (an extremely punishing environment) and he talks ALL day on his phone. His 4 year old Redmi 3 Pro is still running strong after thousands of hours of phone calls and literally 5 cases and 4 screen protectors broken through years of abuse. He paid it 150$ and used it for 4 years. A 1000$ iphone would've cracked at the first drop and the battery would've lasted him half a day as new. My new Poco F2 Pro has a SD865, an uninterrupted AMOLED screen, an enormous battery, 30W charging in the box, full glass construction, 5G, 3 good cameras and I pad it 370€. Quite honestly, I couldn't care less if I found a bug or God forbid one small banner ad while I'm downloading an app (which I already disabled). There is value in things that are not perfect or top-of-the-line, not that Pixel, Apple or Samsung make anything like perfect phones anyways. Please try to be less dismissive of products like these in the future and be more accurate when talking about them (the cover is anti bacterial, the fast charger in the box is actually quite good value, you can actually change all the button shortcuts in MIUI 12, the Xiaomi community is huge and flourishing, there's all the cases you could ask for online, ads are an insignificant issue outside of Chinese roms and can be curbed in the settings, the IR blaster is an extra with a great app and plenty of uses, yes it has some bugs but non-flagship Xiaomi/Redmi phones are incredible value etc.) since they really are a great option which the US won't get because of its lobbied locked phone market, apologised by consumers' irrational dismissiveness prompted by inaccurate reviews like this one. Linus you seriously need to work on your bashing companies unnecessarily. The only reason they even send you the phone because of countries like India where there market share is 25% and your 60% of the entire audience is from India. Don't dismiss some brand just cause you don't have access to it. You have the luxury of buying $2000 phone every single year. Not everyone has that.

Why do I feel like Linus kept a tone of sarcasm on Xiaomi while he actually didn't get a lot of flaws to criticize? Updated: Thank you all for the likes and friendly comments! I know Chinese tech companies have histories of rip-off innovations and poor quality control, and even the rumors of setting backdoors for the CCP government (isn't which also applied to big US companies?), so it's common for people to hold grudge or suspects when reviewing them. I just hope judgments can be made based on solid evidence instead of speculations, facts instead of stereotypes, especially this is supposed to be a tech video. As matter of fact, MIUI 12 currently is ahead in protecting user's privacy than the stock Android for providing a feature called "virtual ID" that can prevent companies and apps from tracking user's behaviors and identities. Xiaomi does have a long way to catch up with the big 3 (Apple, Samsung, and Google) in the phone industry, but I'm quite looking forward to its future performance rather than disdain it.

The fact that you could also go "underkill" is also impressive, i.e you actually have the option to go down from 60 to 48 to 30hz to save on battery. Helps when you're nowhere near a charger and want to save power. Pure genius!

Actually, the case was made with Aluminium (Al) Which is one of the best case included in the box. Aluminium defeats the bacteria on the case. Alumunium is also used for health tools that you can find in hospitals.

144hz isn't just about gaming. Everyday tasks are where you see the huge improvement. Opening and closing apps, scrolling through feeds. That's what 99% of people do on phones and a higher refresh rate display makes that experience much much better. People who say you only use high refresh rate in games are either in denial that high refresh rate is a big deal or just haven't used a high refresh rate display on a phone enough. I wouldn't buy a phone in 2020 without it.

I have one of these cheap silicon cases on my phone and I drop it on concrete ALL THE TIME. Those cases are great.

IR blaster actually is very usefull, in some hotels you have to pay extra for using the AC and they give you a remote if you pay for it. With Mi phones with IR blaster you actually can use any AC or TV or w/e for free 😁

I think everyone failed to recognise this is a Short Circuit Channel and not an LTT channel. This is an unboxing learning about the device, nothing really special than the full review on their main channel.

I'm a bit tired of ads in my Xiaomi (MiUI12, in Europe) - "Downloading an app? Let's scan it for malware (automatically), here is an ad" - "Select PDF to open? Oh, here's an ad before you open it, but only sometimes" - "Performing a cleanup of apps cache are we? Well here you go, little ad for ya!" - "Stack icons in groups in home screen are you? An ad for you right there it is." (although you can disable these, thankfully) I just don't like their philosophy. Spam you with ads and then you can disable some of them as an afterthought.

I'm a fan of linus, I haven't watched this video before I got my Mi10T Pro. I was so happy about this phone (Still am), nearly spent my whole salary for November to buy it and then saw this. I must say, I'm so disappointed how much you underestimated this phone brand. Yes, we know you have access to the most expensive and most advanced technology. But take note that a lot of people are paying more than they can to access just the half of yours.

Yeah MIUI is pretty damn nice. I have always had MIUI as my favourite Android skin. MIUI 12 is the coolest though with the animations, wallpapers and the other good stuff.
