Shortening the Catrike Boom

Күн бұрынWhen I load the my Catrike Dumont on my hitch mounted rack, the pedals stick out from the side view mirror quite a bit. I can't push the pedals in any further since the boom is bottoming out in the receiver. In this video, I'm performing surgery to shorten the boom for safer travel.

Wow! When I had my motor added I bought an extended boom because I wanted as much boom inside the main tube as possible to support the added weight. But good to know I can remove some boom if necessary. Great video!

Note, cutting the boom will not wreck an in production trike! New booms can be purchased. As for my Actionbent a new boom may be much harder to locate and may require fabrication, keep what is cut off it may be possible to weld it back on! Love your videos except for the bubble views there could be a few less of those (not none). The recordings offer superb resolution, yay!

You could also rub some paraffin (wax) on the hacksaw blade.

Davinci Resolve. It has been such an improvement over Vegas Pro.

When I saw you reinstalling the boom after cutting it, I wondered if you had tightened it. I assumed that the video had been edited and it was just not shown. I guess that was not the case.
