This music infuriated Stalin. The plot of the opera is also important. The plot is very tragic. This is a love story against all odds. It was a terrible challenge for Stain's time. A MAN IS ABOVE THE STATE! The PARTY explained to Shostakovich that man is nothing.

I’m not so sure that it is cold. I find it almost unbearably hot with emotion , fear and dread…..
