What a week that was… SHOT Show 2023 has wrapped, and we finally got a minute to stop and think about just what were the best new knives to grace the show floor. Condor is THE company if you're looking for a machete. Because they supply about 1/2 the machetes in Central and South America where they are used EXTENSIVELY in agriculture, they KNOW machetes.

Big agree on the MSI. An improved crossbar lock, a better version of M390, American made, AND only $250 makes it one of my winners of the show too!

As someone who will ONLY buy ~4" blade knives. I'm so hyped for the Microtech MSI and Balista XL. The Coldsteel Swift and Mayhem also got my attention but we need more larger versions of knives already on the market

I say it again. But BM "ditched" the 154CM steel on that mini barrage years and years ago. There was and still is G10 version of the Barrage with s30V steel. I have it in my hand right now. It is no upgrading on the steel material on the barrage. Just the with handle material and price, of course.

Thanks for all the shot show footage, I watched them all. I agree with David the microtech MSI looks awesome and the new mkm folder and the terzuola fixed blade both look amazing.

For me, the Ontario SPL you showed seems a good knife for the garden, like a hori hori with a sheath. The other one I will also get is the El Pionero, for food prep. I don't own a TOPS now so its a great addition. And both Case knives shown are really tempting.

Thanks, Mr. Andersen and Thomas. FIXED BLADES: Condor Terachete. Runners Up - Ontario SPL Pack Knife and the Condor Mountaineer Trail Intent. FOLDERS: Bestech Mothus and Boker Urban Barlows are just stunning, if money is no object. But it is, so the Ontario Red RAT-1.

The two I'm most looking forward to are the QSP. Just because I have a soft spot for tanto blades, and the bang for the buck factor. The second is the SOG One-Zero. That is one dreamy auto. Honorable mention would be that pair of CJRB's

That Condor Machete is very cool at an awesome price. Honestly from Cold Steel imo the coolest knife was the new Japanese style Tanto Kobun. Looks perfect for EDC, camping, tactical.

The MKM Eclipse folder has the same blade shape as the huge Spyderco Nati Amor Subvert... always been a dream knife of mine, but the Spyderco is over 9" long and over $375. Will be interesting to see the cost, size, and styles of the MKM!

On the subject of Competition Choppers for camp use I just have to mention the Teräva Skrama. While not dimensionally exactly the same I think the use in camp would be the same. DCA should try one out, they are amazing!!

One of my favorite things from your shot show coverage was your interview with Viper knives. Which unless I'm mistaken you neglected to mention here DCA, C'mon! Just kidding of course. But I get the sense that alot of others disregard Viper, or shy away because of maybe a language barrier... you find a way to make it work and it works well. Much respect for that

I am not a hunter, but love camping and would use it for tasks around the campsite, such as food prep. I was wondering what you would recommend, in a fixed blade, for around $300? I recently found your Utube channel, which I really like & and may have to order a knife, & that may be the Buck 664 Hunter fixed blade. The shape & style really caught my attention, even though it's a bit pricy. Years ago, as a reserve police officer, I was influenced by veteran officers, who all had Buck 110s, which I bought & carried; my only Buck. Ironically, a lot of crooks carried them too. Thanks for what you are doing.

So just a comment about the CRKT crossbar lock folders. They have an ambidexterous lock but one side only pocket clip. In the words of the late Arte Johnson... "very interesting, but stupid".... ;)

Like the Laconico Sokoco. I’m a Laconico fan but not a fan of his CNC clips. I like the clip on this design. I’m ordering one up! Or, the CJRB Button Lock, or both!
