From Phils: Am not a medical professional but my son was recently diagnosed for Typhoid fever with complications of passing blood stool. The surgeon explained whats happening aided by sketches that made me understand whats going on inside. Your presentation however gave me a fuller idea of how the layers of the ileum looks like and appease my anxiety. I agree that you are really helping a lot of people by uploading these kind of presentations - medical students & ordinary people. Thank you.

The difference between the duodenum, jujuneum, and ileum are that the Bruners Glands are in Duodenum, Peyers patches in the Ileum, and the jujuneum lacks both.. hope that helps differentiate the SI some!

Regarding the Peyer's patches location... I have friends (and you) who say that it is in the submucosa, while I believe Peyer's patches originate in the lamina propria and may disrupt the muscularis mucosa to reach the submucosa. So in the case of a multiple choice question, where would you say the Peyer's patches are located in? A. lamina propria or B. the submucosa? (this was a question on the exam I had today, d'oh)

Do we see Peyer's patches on the jejunum section? I thought this can only be found on the ileum section. I'm confused 'coz it's on my lab manual and it says look for peyer's patches on the jejunum slide.
