The Infiltrators in Mass Effect are usually considered a sniper class, but I prefer to use them with a shotgun.
This allows us to have pretty much the best stealth based flanking/close combat build in the entire game. This style of gameplay is seriousy overpowered if used correctly.

A little teaser before I finish my build videos. A shotgun Infiltrator! :) Super fun build if you like fast-paced stealth builds with one-shot kills at melee range. Pretty much the king/queen of the shotgun double/triple-kills. This way you actually have to use your Tactical Cloak "tactically"(just like you would use Stealth and daggers in other rpgs like Skyrim for example), and not just as a quick damage boost while you snipe someone off from a mile away. This "hit&run" stealth build makes even the Vanguard run for its money when it comes to multiple close carter takedowns. The kill speed is insane. For every shot you can get a kill basically if you have good positioning(and headshots are pretty easy at this range). This means that with the Eviscerator's fire rate, you can have 3 kills in 3.75 seconds. Definitely not something that can be replicated with a sniper rifle, especially since most Sniper Rifles which can match the "per shot" damage of the Eviscerator(294 dmg) or the Geth Plasma Shotgun(250 dmg), are "bolt action" or "single shot" rifles like the Mantis(263 dmg) or the Widow(368 dmg), which slows your speed down pretty badly. If you like the "high risk/high reward" builds, this is definitely something you have to try out! :)

I've been rewatching your Mass Effect builds as I'm maybe gearing up for a new trilogy run. The ME1 Vanguard one is still my favourite video. I may go back to her, since my version of the vanguard was more of an adept. Did you ever get around to completing this Infiltrator build? Looks super fun.

@@grl7753 Yup, I finished it and it was fun as hell. What was not fun is the fact that Origins destroyed my saves for the entire Trilogy. This is why I never got around to show the builds for this Infi. It is definitely in the plans to do another run with a Shotgun Infi though. I really want to show the build, because it was pretty intense. But this time I will pick femshep for my Infi, just to mix it up a bit. :)

@@AKisHerceg Ah, that's too bad, but at least you get to do it again! Before the Collector Ship do you just use close range SMGs, like the Shuriken? And did you also do a similar shotgun/close range playstyle for this Infiltrator in ME1 and ME3? Or was it just focussed on ME2?

@@grl7753 Finished the whole Trilogy with it. I still have a few video about it sitting on my pc. Not enough to make a whole build video about it though. I might include them with the new one. Yup, I just used SMGs close range until I got the Shotguns. Shuriken is pretty good at close range because its spread is irrelevant and it shits out bullets faster than any other gun that is available at that point.

@@rashamohammed2591 Not sure about you, but there are no real tactics involved with people who play Infi with a SR. People just use it as a quick dmg boost and headshot everything from far away, behind cover. You can take a Heavy Mech down in less than 5 sec. What exactly is the tactics in that? You also don't need it for aiming, since the second you look into the scope, time basically stops so you can take heads easily. With the Shotgun however, there are plenty of tactics when it comes to your cloak, simply because of the dangerous nature of the up close and personal gameplay(very similar to the Vanguard). You can use your cloak for getting close, getting away, positioning, getting the perfect headshot ect. None of this is needed for someone who has the advantage of distance and cover with slow motion aiming. With a shotgun Infi, you have to get close to your target with no cover, so you rely on your cloak a thousand times more than you would with a SR hiding behind cover far away. You have to time your cloak and your shots perfectly, otherwise enemies will catch you with your cloak off and your pants down and rip you to shreds.

The Alliance as a whole has the Alliance Infiltration Unit and she is a robot The N7 (a subdivision of the Alliance) has the shotgun Infiltrator Commander Shepard and he/she is a human GG!!

With good positioning, you can actually achieve better results with the shotgun. And much faster gameplay. Tactical Cloak works the same way as Stealth in other rpgs, and the shotgun can substitute your dagger(which usually gets damage bonus from Stealth). So Tactical Cloak is excellent with a shotgun, since the shotgun is deadliest from close range which is easy to accomplish with the Cloak. Short range + high damage from stealth = mayhem! :) Just make sure you have a way out after the initial attack. You can take down up to 3 enemies if you are precise, but if you attack more than 3, you better have a good escape plan in mind.

Nice editing! When you activate the cloak at 9:12 geth hunter is so shocked to lose visual, it uncloaks itself, haha. Also, when the yahg stops targeting you at around 5:05 even after you uncloak, is that some sort of a glitch, or just cloak after-effect? I have never seen him target anyone but me. Of course I haven't played infiltrator class since the times of original ME2 either.

Thanks! :) Yup, it is easy to confuse the Hunter, because it usually only attacks from very close melee range and by the time it reaches me, I'm gone. To me, that always happens when I cloak. Even with bosses, except the Oculus which can target you in Cloak(even YMIR mechs and Geth Primes will stop with their barrage of bullets). There, the Yagh shifts his aggro on Liara because it lost me. I think the Cloak zeros aggro completely in ME2. In ME3, it is a bit different. There the enemies will still be able to target you for a few sec after you cloaked.

I would love to give the build video right now, but my character was deleted by the fantastic Origin when I was hacked. So I'm trying to build another Infi for a while now, but life is a bit busy. Hopefully in a month I can put together a proper build video about this. I even plan to compare the damage output of a shotgun Infi with a sniper Infi. :)

@@td1964 Same. And the gun choice was the Reegar Carbine. It has massive dmg boost against shields and barriers and with APA it can even shoot through light cover and wreck armor. Phenomenal weapon!

Yes, you can. You need to pick the Shotgun option when you progress in the story - it will allow you to pick between 3 different choices: the Widow sniper, the ability to use Assault Rifles, and the ability to use Shotguns. :)

Honestly that looks so boring to me. Legit just goes invisible and shoots them and that’s it. Idk maybe I’m missing something 🤷‍♂️

It's all about positioning. :) It is a win or lose game, since if you position yourself poorly, you can quickly end up dead, since you are no Vanguard to recover your barrier. But if you master the use of the Tactical Cloak then it is super fun! The gameplay is very exciting man, you never have a boring moment. You should give it a try! But if this is boring to you, then I guess Infiltrators in general are not your cup of tea, since with the sniper rifle, the gameplay is actually stale in comparison, because you can just keep your distance stay in cover and snipe everything. With the shotgun you are constantly on the move, like a shark who devours smaller foes with one bite and keeps tearing out bigger and bigger chunks from the larger ones! :)

@@AKisHerceg Yeah, I get it. I’ve never been one that likes shooting games but I always play a soldier in Mass effect. I like the versatility of using a Assault rifle and Sniper rifle and being able to bring everyone I want. Everyone but Ashley that is. Sadly 😞she always seems to die in Mass Effect one.😏
