One of the other reasons why the Rack-9 is much more reliable than the banshee is that it has the smart choke on it which makes its ADS pellet group much tighter. The Banshee doesn't have this feature and is thus often much more unreliable.

I love my Reaver RODEO it's so fun to run around in KC with it and just get tons of score from picking up the packs and the tags with the kills it's really nice

i've been rocking the suppressors as soon as i've unlocked em and just hosing pellets with reaver and dcm8. Haven't yet worked much with the others. Slide kills are the only thing keeping outta the gold zone, thus far.

I play Hardcore, so the Long Barrel will still be a fixture on my classes. Every little inch @ just 30 Health matters. (That's what she said) What these findings do change is how I look at suppressors. I may run that instead of Extended Mags.

Just to add my opinion on the shotguns since I have them diamond, the banshee is the most consistent in every match I played and it was the easiest to get gold while the reaver and rack 9 are tied for the least consistent in each match. I do not recommend aiming down sights because I noticed I got my hit markers doing that than hip firing. Recommend using the variants that have sharpshooter to aid and free up an attachment since you won't need to run long barrel with it

In hardcore game modes how many shotgun pellets does it take to kill?

I'd been staying away from the shotguns, having found them pretty weak in IW's past. Looks like I need to setup a couple of shotgun classes, run amok, and see what sort of returns I get. For attachments, from this - due to my contsa-Ghost and Dead Silence - I will definitely run a suppressor, and then just slow down a bit, or hide and wait...

I haven't even touched a shotgun in IW yet. When I do I'll be giving the suppressor a go though.

I haven't even tried a suppressor on a shotty in IW because history has shown me that they suck on shotguns in COD. However... hmm... this weekend may see me with a new, stealthy shotty class. :D Awesome vid, Ace! Thank you!

I am probably going to still run laser/rifled, it may not help but maybe the placebo will make me feel better about it. I may actually silencer now tho and if its not horrible, i may change my mind. Would have never tried it before seeing these stats tho!

I'd like to see the two / three / and four shot range increased 5-10 meters out to a total range of 20-25 meters. The one shot range is actually okay, it's just sad to miss some pellets in the one to two shot range and get outgunned because rifles/smgs have far superior times to kill.

I'm actually gonna run neither on my Sandy Ravage or the upcoming 12 gauge autoloader found in Terminator 2. Long Barrel seems like a waste of a pick point and running a suppressor on shotguns isn't my style. I would rather go loud and have people come in my direction so I can 1v1 them. Instead, Quickdraw would be better since the pellets on the Sandy Ravage tightens up when aiming so quickly aiming down sights seems more fitting. And the Laser Sight will make hip firing much easier for me. Gimme a EMC or UDM and I'm set.

The S-ravage keeps killing me in 1 shot with reactive armor on, so broken.

This might sound weird, but when I ever play a shooter I envision myself as a Stalin and think i have a mustache when I kill players.

Is there a difference in the pellet pattern these shotguns throw? Meaning does one shotgun throw a tighter pattern with more pellets closer together than another shotgun? Do you know the difference in pellet pattern between shotguns while ADS compared to hip firing? It would be pretty interesting to see all of that. Pellet pattern is a pretty crucial shotgun characteristic and it would be interesting to see if they took that into account. Especially if the shotguns that only require 1 pellet to hit for it to be a one shot kill threw a much wider pattern compared to another shotgun. If that's the case I could see a shotgun like that being a little OP.

I feel like the banshee needs a change just because it's supposed to be a "sonic" shotgun, so it feels really strange that it has pellets. That's a lore problem more than a gameplay problem though, so it'll probably just be ignored.

The reaver with the smart shot is the best gun in the game

I'm not going to use long barrel anymore and I feel shotguns are playable and I like the s ravage! I've got banshee epic and the epic trait/perk still does nothing so pleased I got it out of a supply drop and not with salvage! By the way if anyone wants to get a real good weapon then get the epic ebr 800 bomber it is a beast! I normally go on a 5 kills to 20+ deaths when I use any sniper in any cod but with this I'm doing the opposite! And I've got plenty of other epic weapons and they just don't come close to this gun

So Rack-9 has a good one shot range... yet I get a got damn hitmarker upclose leaving the guy a tiny bit health. but when he uses it, he one shots me far away. wtf this is why i stick with the Reaver, just like how I use the Brecci in BO3.. like a scumbag

shotguns were waaaaay too strong in BO3, I outclassed all smgs short to mid range with the haymaker 12 just because you can jump through the air and hip fire ect.

Im not using suppressor or long barrel because Im not running shotguns. They are too weak right now. Im better off using an SMG. Man I miss the days of the Remington and the KSG

I never understood why the devs always have at least one or two attachments provide such a small benefit that it's practically unnoticeable. It really urks me that long barrel is practically useless on shotguns; imo they should either buff long barrel so that it actually does something (maybe 20% or so) or just remove it from the game completely.

Maybe just improve handling and aim assist and make the pumps have tighter spread. You make theses shotguns have more range and its going to be destiny 1.5. In terms of range 15% for long barrel and less range on suppressors.
