I still use Office Small Business 2000. Came with my computer on a disc many years ago. Everytime I have to update to a newer version of windows on ANY of my computers, I simply take the Office Small Business 2000 disc and install it on the new computer or new version of windows. I hope it keeps working forever. I miss the good old days when you bought a computer and the programs cam on discs "FREE"

If you buy MS office 2019 Pro Plus Version you will get most of the features like publisher etc..

Great comparison video Dave. I had a problem with Office and the only way to get rid of it was to purchase a new copy (my last copy was office 2007) I paid my money and got the new copy of windows and started to install it. Unfortunately, I was not allowed to upgrade over another copy!! I then tried to uninstall office and it wouldn’t delete a file. I have ended up having to back up my drive and reinstalling windows. However, when I did come to install Office I made a decision to install WPS open office (I used this whilst I waited for the new Office disk to be delivered) The new WPS office is so slick and fast plus has a lot of extra features than Office. It would be good to see you do a “Non” Microsoft Office comparison video as to be honest I don’t want one drive and sticky notes and outlook etc. Keep up the good vids

Hi Dave. I was running Windows 7 and had a retail copy of Office 2010 running on it. That laptop died and Microsoft tells me that the product key is blocked (probably because the person I bought the retail copy from used it on other computers). The new computer runs Windows 10, but I'm not sure I'm going to put up with it and may have to go back to Windows 7. So my question is if I buy a sealed retail copy of Office 2010 or 2013 will the product key work or can you not even register them because they're no longer supported? I suppose I could buy Office 2019, but then if I want to go back to Windows 7 it won't work and I'll have to buy an older version. Right? Saving any confidential data to the cloud seems incredibly risky to me. What is there to keep any Microsoft person from being able to access what you upload to One-Drive?

I have an issue that I can’t seem to solve or anyone I’ve asked. So i have an Ssd that had OS and it no longer boots up, it gives me the repair the computer option, but I didn’t know what to do. So I I unplugged all my drives connect except the Ssd. I booted from a USB to reinstall windows 10 I deleted the system files and formatted the Ssd since it had two partitions. Once I did that, it gave me a error where I cannot install windows into this partition. Even after a format and deleted the system files. I clicked the error and it says where I have to initialize(or something like that) the Ssd in bio menus. Which I had no clue and that’s where I gave up.

Dave, can I suggest a couple of topics that need to be covered if possible? How to DISABLE and/or UNINSTALL both Microsoft Edge and Bing from Windows 10. As it is, I've already managed to disable Cortana, but found it IMPOSSIBLE to stop Bing appearing when I use the Search bar, despite having Chrome already set as my default browser. I will not use Edge either but cannot disable or remove it. Any tutorial would be VERY welcome. Cheers. Great videos by the way, making things very clear and easy to do. Much appreciated.

I believe Microsoft 2019 will have no more support or security updates after 2022 on Mac. Just something to consider

I'm finding it very difficult to find out the real differences between these versions. I couldn't care less about the three versions 365, 2019 or Online. What I AM interested in learning is HOW these versions actually work. If I get into another 40-hours of MS tech help, remotely accessing my brand spanking new laptop in order to make Outlook 365 work with Gmail. That's something I want to avoid...like the plague! Nobody talks about the IT topography or environment. It's all feature/benefit for the various apps. Useless info, IMHO. so widely available.

Its funny one persons reason for using 365 is to get updates, that is the reason I do not want it because they will (like the always do sooner or later) move on to something else and then I would have all those files in a format that only 365 could read and after an update I would be screwed. I have Office 2010 that I still use. My files are backed up on iDrive so I am good that way and if I ever needed one I could just pull it off there. I am really unhappy about being forced to downgrade to Windos 10 . Windows 7 is the bet operating system they ever made. You know when they have a really crappy one because they try and force people onto it. You talked about a powerful database application hahaha Microsoft could not compete with FoxBase when it came out so they baught them out, changed it to FoxPro and then killed it, now that is a powerful database. what they have not is a toy. I just do not trust Microsoft not to find a way to hurt me is I put all my eggs in their basket.

I run Cubase for music production and recording and I therefore have a lot of plug-ins and serial codes from various stuff. I run a weekly windows 10 backup using file history on a caldigit VR2 mini in 0 RAID mode and I've also made a clone of the drive on a separate external drive. Just wanted to know which is the best backup method to actually use in this scenario? I have cloned the drive of one laptop to the drive of a different laptop, (Win 10) and it updated drivers and configured everything automatically and worked beautifully. Would this work for tower builds too? Appreciate your time, keep rockin'!!

Hi Dave about 3 years ago I did a recovery and back up of my computer I did it with cds it took hours and used 5 discs is there a simpler way of doing this by using a usb stick or external hard drive. I have been looking at your videos and they have been extremly helpful cheers Basil.

7:18 This guy is wrong. Only the lowest tier plan doesn't allow you to save your work to your computer. All other plans do.

This isn't connected but please do read. My admin account was the microsoft email then accidentally I signed in to the local account. I don't know what happened next but it keeps saying the 'temporary profile' even though I tried signing in with that microsoft account already. With that, every time I signed out and in again, all of the things/files that I saved were washed out the next time I sign in. How am I be able to go back to my usual? Even the 2 folders in my desktop with my username (the one with a person icon) and the pc icon one were gone. What should I do? I hope you'll help me.

problem: i tried to factory reset my computer then it took very long like 2 hour something then i turned the computer before completing the reset now some stuff work and some of them wont, and i tried to fix the issue it didnt work for me, then i decide to factory reset it and told my self idc if it takes years. then i cant open setting at all it says there is problem, is there anyways to factory reset this thing without going to the setting or without turning it off then touching f11 cus i have tried those and it didnt work

Unfortunatly when I print the labels they are out of alignment and no matter what I do I cannot get labels printed in the space available. Each row of labels creeps up the page making them useless. Can you share 365 with family member who do not live at the same household? and might be in the other city? another option is a few friends? price is quite high in cad unfortunately, so it would be more manageable. There are quite a few apps people use nowadays (some one-time purchase, some subscription-based) and it all piles up into a round sum.

Office 365 is more expensive for features I don't need.

My laptop will not come off this screen

So when my computer comes on it tells me that one of the cooling fans are not working and shows me the risk of me still using it. So when i press enter it goes to an "preparing automatic repair" and then it loads and goes to a blue screen telling me my PC ran into some problems. Im trying to factory reset jt but i dont know how (windows 10)
