I've seen people use oil based paints that you literally do the lightest touch with the brush and the paint just fills the gaps. Makes detailing look super easy.

For detailing I search online for water slide decals for the specific car I am doing for head lights and tail lights.

Detailing customs is hard, but one thing that could help is watching some tutorial on Gundam detailing. These things N E E D S smaller details, and they use some special pen to do the lining and everything. My dad does Gunpla a lot and he loves to take his time with the detailing and weathering.

I actually work at the hobby shop where lots of people do the Gundam builds as well as Warhammer stuff. I work with a guy who's incredible at small details. That being said, nothing is better than trial and error. It's just really annoying stripping paint and repainting lol

Mike! That hurracan custom is sick! I’d recommend water slide decals for the headlights and taillights! As for line work tape and the thinnest possible paintbrush usually helps keep lines smooth! Great videos as always keep em up!

Use masking tape and mask around headlights, and use ur marker or washable paint to detail it

You can detail , practice on old cars, some cars are out of my range too.

Add detail with a black wash and then you can wipe it off. Second use paint markers to detail rather than paint. Lotus looks great. Plastic can be soaked in hydrogen peroxide and then sit in the sun to de-yellow ( not sure on this one) and of course polish after for a smooth clear. Dont forget to lower your cars for a better look.

Yes I actually did use the hydrogen peroxide on old windshields. It definitely works. And believe it or not aside from the little vents, I did use paint pens for detail lol. How do I lower the car without getting a special base plate?

Mike, deets are important so do yourself a favor and strip the Porche down and strip some old junk cars and practice on them with thin tip acrylic markers this way if you mess it up have a damp rag with you, wipe it off start again, thats how I do it and just trust the process. #practicemakesprogress🤙

Great vid again. I'm like you. I hate detailing. But it think it needs it. Try using a toothpick. That's what I use. And fine tipped pens.

The first 6 minutes of this video were some of the spots I went last Wednesday! Got the 1/32 Jada F&F Jetta at this first Walmart. And that Big Lots ended up getting the Vintage set and Holy Crap I got the Camaro, I was like no way because I was in there at around 6pm.

The detailing always goes wrong for me. You need super steady hands to even contemplate doing it. They still look great Mike, even without the details.

Do you drill the base of your customs? If not, how do you reattach the base when u do wheel swaps?

Yes. I drill out the rivets. Then I drill slightly from the inside of the base plate so when I reattach it, there is no resistance. When the car is done I add some glue

"Do people still buy Funko"!?!?!?! Let me tell you something Mike...Hot wheels is amazing to collect and I know value is there but when it comes to Funko....the value is INSANE instantly! I've sold a Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees chase for 1200 bucks a couple months back...Hot wheels is the most collected toy on earth but Funko is definitely second

I’ll agree. Your detailing is bad. Really bad. But mines not even better. But I’ve gotten a lot better since I started. My key secret is toothpicks. Or fine thin markers and lots of patience. Other than that. Keep me entertained. I’ll keep watching ya.
