Studying for my ChFC and CFP designation, and my current lesson said that grad student debt is masked but a huge culprit on our current crisis. An average graduate student’s annual federal loans have ballooned from $10k (1995) to $23k (2015). This is compared from $3.8K to $6.7k annually for undergrad.

Waste of money. I discerned an mba or engineering management grad Degree as well. As an engineer, it depends but most of the time all you need experience in the field and great communication skills and grit to move into a management role. Speaking from experience you do not need a masters to move into a management position. You need to prove yourself in your current role, and when a spot opens up, apply for it. Or, if you wish to change companies, explain how your technical aptitude will provide value to them in a management function. If you come across strong in your interview, resume and application will more often than not get you into a management position
