"Bocchi the Rock" is a love letter to the musician's struggle with an anime series that was/is made by people who care about music. (Feels like the story of a band with a 40 years+ lifespan in their 1st year.)

Yes to watching Bocchi the Rock! For musicians, people with social anxiety, or just anime fans it is peak. This is also once you watch and read the lyrics to the songs it'll bring a tear to the eye. "This song goes harder than it should" is what you can say about every song in Bocchi. The songs are written by big Japanese artists from many different bands. Also just a small correction the singing guitarist is not male.l but the singer is the voice actor for the singer in the show.

Yes, it captures music and musicians well. Plus it nails what an introvert with social anxiety goes through emotionally. I certainly recommend watching the anime.

With your sense of humour, you really should watch it! It's hilarious but not only - it's actually a very good description of how many of our favorite bands started, with great character accuracy, and pretty moving moments sometimes. And funny as hell too. Lovely anime!

I have personally visited many of the real life locations used in this show...including sitting on the very swing Hitori (Bocchi) is sitting on in Ep.1..The park the swing is in is just a short walk from the temple used in BAND-MAID's "Real Exsitence" MV..(which I also visited)..My first and No.2 MAID's track.

"Chef's kiss"? For sure! You get the feeling that the team who made it, loves music, and did their uttermost to make it feel authentic. The instruments looks authentic, playing too with strumming synchroniced and chords looking credible. It's a good show, where the struggle of the MC is focal point. And her way of overcoming it. No silly romantic manga story with panties and such.

Yes, watch Bocchi! It's pretty much a 'must watch' for any music loving anime fan, even more so than other music/band anime, I would say. It's a truly delightful and heartwarming show. The director, Keiichiro Saito, has "The Touch", it seems; his follow up to "Bocchi the Rock!" was "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End", and both are now among my favourite anime ever. There may be a little recency bias, but I've been watching anime since 1979 and these are some of the best I've ever seen.

Woah you actually listened to Kessoku Band ! ♥ This made my day a lot better Nitt, thank you! Every member for Kessoku Band in Bocchi sings a different song in the EDs and you'd be surprised they have great voices! The music is on point and it's written by big Japanese artists! The whole show is absolutely fantastic for every musician and people with social anxiety! Every single song in the anime has a meaning and the lyrics just hit. There will be 100% a character from the show you can relate to, so I fully recommend watching it!

Seishun complex is the OP song of the show and it's sung by the voice actor to one of the main characters Kita. I really watch a lot of Anime and Bocchi the Rock is one of my favorite shows of the last years. It's absolute peak. Both from a music, but also from a character stand point. You will love Bocchi, she's so adorable. So yes, please watch it, even if it's just for yourself 😊

Yeees, Bocchi! It's cute, it's funny, it's relatable, it's from the heart, it's musical, it's Kessoku Band! The show is full of rock references, features several original performances (plus an album on CD and streaming services), and for maidiacs like you and me, there's even an homage to our favorite BAND in the manga.

Yes you should watch Bocchi the Rock. It's a really good and sweat story. I dunno about reaction videos to each episode though, might be a bit much. Maybe react to the first episode, then the 4th, then the 8th, etc. It might get old after awhile if you literally did each one.

Yes you definitely should watch 'Bocchi the Rock'. And to watch another anime that predates and even inspired it by 10 years called 'K-ON!' It first started out as a manga in 2007-2012. An anime series that lasted 2 seasons (2009-2010) followed by a movie (2011). A second manga series started in 2018-present. This manga and a lot of young all-girl Japanese bands starting out in the mid-2000s to early 2010s may have been inspired by the 2005 Japanese cult movie, 'Linda Linda Linda'. Another thing you should also really watch and find out why there are now so many all-female Japanese bands. There were many before this movie but it seems to have exploded exponentially afterward.

this was a great special studio session live that was debut on outdoor billboard screens in tokyo and osaka. all the musicians here are accomplished and pro plus this is almost the same lineup as the album version. lead vocals is the voice actress who plays the character who is the lead vocalist. the left guitarist is the main arranger for all the songs (who had to arrange everything to sound like a shimokita highschool girlsrockband) and is popular singer/songwriter Aimer's guitarist. the drummer is also the drummer for the popular rock band RyokuShaka among other artists. the album has a whole bunch of guest contributers and the composer for this song (as well as 4 others) is otoha. Otoha-chan is filling in the role here in the right guitarist position. Normally the left guitarist is lead but this is a special version of Otoha playing a lot of lead parts and backing vocals (if people want to hear more like Otoha but with a more traditional rock feel than otoha's current stuff, you can check out a "similar artist" as the rock bands Fern Planet and Rick Rack) I think anime voice actress Hasegawa kills it on vocals here - and in their live concerts as well. it's popular enough that they've played several shows as Kessoku Band and are playing at big outdoor summer concert festivals. But, Ohmori who played the stage theatre play version of this vocal while having to act, sing, and play guitar at the same time also did a great job! But, this particular song is really difficult. the Main Character's voice actress had to learn to play the guitar and learn to play this song in a youtube video series and while she pulled it off, it was way too hard for a beginner. Should you watch the show? if you liked the song, then you probably should watch show More more extra extra comments that no one asked for: - Otoha's guitar - it's a custom one but one time for youtube, they had a cheap broken one that looked similar and they would prank other people (in the same youtuber creative collective group) into thinking they broke otoha's precious guitar - Otoha's backstory of how they got into music is one of those crazy things that should have come out of a novel - i think they found their mother's old guitar in storage and it opened up their musical world. at like age 15, they were performing in competitions singing vocals while playing lead guitar riffs at the same time. When they were a teenager and more recently, they also have performances on the traditional shamisen as well. - kessoku band's musician line up changes from event to event. there are the core musicians for recording and the two guitarists (not otoha) are the two arrangers on the album. but, for various events, they have to bring in other session musicians to fill in. When the main character's voice actress did a performance of this song on her "road to guitar hero" learning to play guitar, all the band member roles were filled in by accomplished women. and in the stage play version, it's a 4-piece band so the main 4 stage play cast members have to play their band roles on stage as well.

The vocalist is the voice actress for the singer from the anime, as part of her audition she had to demonstrate she could sing the material as well as act. The lead guitarist who is also singing backing vocals is Otoha, who wrote this song (they have a solo career but have written 2-3 tracks for the show so far). Their guitar is a Sago (small Japanese boutique brand, who also makes several signature models for Machiya from Wagakki Band), specifically their signature version of the Stem Sonia model. The finish is an Azurite wrap, the body is actually made from two pieces of alder wood.

It's a really fun anime! The animation is great, characters are somewhat relatable (mostly in our imagination of what we think we are like). It's hard to describe. You need to be more careful with reacting to anime though, you have cut it up a bit and put something over then video. Just out some other anime reactors and how they do it. As far as this song goes, It reminds me a bit of Polkadot Stingray. It's like Progressive Power Pop! I attribute the creativity is due to Jazz being king for many years before rock.

Awesome performance, it just makes me sad how the person who edited this decided to not showcase the drummer and bassist at all when they were making beautiful music right there. But oh well, luckily we can still hear them which is the important thing. As for the show, its fun and lighthearted, just 12 episodes so it doesnt take much time out of you , would totally recommend.

Great review of the song and I recommend watching the anime, a great show about young musicians trying the make it a rock band. Also, the author of the mange is a rock fan and for each chapter heading uses an image of a band or location. For chapter 42 he uses an image that is very similar to a scene in the Band-Maid official music video for the song "Domination" - I'd post the link that shows that but my comment would get deleted

Amazing band, they are really into their music, and avoid the ego battles of having two guitars by interacting with each other. A pity we didn't get a lot of close up of the drummer and bass player, that were killing it. If you want to check contrast, check the Gasaraki opening and ending. They are worlds apart. The opening features effects from the mecha's hardware as it boots up and the pilot's heartbeat increases, a female singer and electronic music that changes into traditional Japanese music and ritual singing, . The ending is a slow love song with delicacy and amazing vocals. I don't know if you'd like it, bue hey, you asked for it.

I love Bocchi. At the very least you should watch the show. As others have said, the lead guitarist here is Otoha, but she used to go by the name Serina in her previous life as the lead singer/guitarist of the bands Rick Rack and Fern Planet. They were both short lived, but I absolutely love them and listen to them both often. You should check out the video from Rick Rack 「幾千の出会いと一つの奇跡」 sometime. I love it!

Welp! Since we are ok with anime here, I've got a suggestion for a Vtuber. (as in a person who is using an anime character as an avatar as they stream.) Japan has a show called "The First Take" where they take an artist, and let them sing their song, but they get one shot at it. Hence first take. So my suggestion is the first ever Vtuber to make it onto that show. Hoshimachi Suisei, with her song "Stellar stellar". People didn't take her seriously, being someone who doesn't show her face, and not on a music label. But then she started singing. Another Vtuber that has "made it", as in now is signed to a music label, is an English vtuber from the same company. (Hololive) Her name is Mori Calliope. And for her, I'd start with "Excuse my rudeness, but could you please RIP?" Sorry for the long post, but I'm used to people not knowing what the heck I'm talking about when it comes to vtubers. lol
