Do you think NASCAR should add a few more cookie cutter tracks to the Cup schedule?

This race definitely proves that NASCAR needs to do more day-to-night transition races. It allows for more exciting strategies and better racing as the race progresses.

They should definitely bring back Chicagoland

Atlanta: Close finish at the line Texas: OT finish Kansas: OT Finish, Dead Heat at the line. Outside of Vegas, the 1.5 mile races this year have been great. Charlotte has a high benchmark to hit for the Coke 600.

This race makes me wish we had WAAAAY more night races/day-night races.

We need more night races, or more transitioning races. Add Chicagoland, Try Kentucky, after maybe a proper and high IQ repave, I can't think of any other 1.5 mile tracks

They need bring Chicagoland and Kentucky back, but probably have to take a race away from Vegas and Kansas. I know after the great race we saw yesterday that might shock people about taking a Kansas race away, but if they just have one race weekend, it’s a guarantee sellout. Also still hoping they get rid of the roval and bring back the fall oval race at Charlotte

I think NASCAR can do away with one road course in the Chicago Street Course once their contract ends in exchange for Chicagoland!

What I offer in a sort of a "fantasy" universe in my roleplays: 1. Chicagoland is there, supposedly with better pavement, but still produces great racing, held annually at the July 4th weekend as well. That makes a 10th 1.5 mile. 2. Adding a race in Europe, I keep pleading for that! Give Lausitzring a chance, for Heaven's sake! Alex Zanardi wouldn't be mad, even if he lost his legs there. The track would work even better at NASCAR! It's a 2-mile track, similar to Pocono, but with wider turns and the speed is quite high! Give it a chance! An Euro 400 or Germany 400! It can easily fit 42 NASCARs and has enough pit cells for that! The oval is maintained, it should be used, not just the infield! I guarantee the racing will be good! That would make it 11.

As an Indycar fan in addition to NASCAR, it is time for NASCAR, SMI & ISC to end their petty feud with Indycar (that has essentially blocked Indycar from racing at their tracks) so that Indycar can experience the same thing NASCAR has experienced when it comes to exciting races on these cookie cutter tracks. Indycar desperately needs to return to these cookie cutter tracks because for over a decade, they have been forced to race on absolutely terrible street circuits/road courses like the ones in Nashville or the Indy RC which either produce wreck fests or boring racing. I would love to see Kansas, Vegas, Michigan & Chicagoland all return to the Indycar schedule in the next few years to replace these races & make the Indycar schedule much more balanced. Heck even Indycar returning to Texas or Pocono or even trying to go to Atlanta or Charlotte would be welcomed by the fans.

Only tracks that need 2 dates are Daytona and dega. Let’s keep it special

Absolutely. 2017 we all hated the amount of cookie cutters, mainly bc the package sucked. Now, we gotta bring back Chicagoland (replacing Texas)

NASCAR or MSI did this before... All the 1.5 mile tracks that looked like Charlotte or Michigan in the 90's and early 00's. Fans got bored of the that pretty quickly. I like tracks with character, like the old Atlanta and Darlington layouts, and the real Sonoma. But, I know some tracks never make for good races, like Loudon and Texas.

50 seconds in. You’re 100% right. This was the greatest finish I have ever seen. That’s amazing in itself. This is the best race I’ve ever watched. Start to finish. I watched the whole race via the app through Larson’s in car and scanner in my phone with the tv about a half a lap behind. I usually work Sundays so seeing a whole rain delayed race was a treat. I got home about 15 minutes before the drop of green because I left early because it was slow. I saw every moment. Larsons whole race. Sliding and battling. Falling off. Strategy. Pit crew woes and triumphs. I saw him send it. Over. And over. And over. I saw him wear the hell out of his tires. Then I saw him do the impossible. You watch for 30 years. You’ve seen 700+ white flags. They don’t end like that. My fandom peaked. That’s just from a driver fan perspective. As a nascar fan…. I saw constant battles for the lead. I saw strategy. I saw tire wear. I saw fuel mileage. I saw a race decided on a natural caution caused by tire wear. A natural GWC if there ever was on. It was a beautiful experience. I’ll never see anything like it again. How they went through 3 & 4. 999 times out of 1000, the inside car pushes them both into the wall. It’d be over. Idk how they both made it through. I’ll forever respect Chris Beuscher.

Another reason why homestead needs to be the finale and Phoenix should only have one race with Chicagoland taking the 2nd Phoenix race. Maybe see if Kentucky can get one race or give homestead a second date. Dump roval to charlotte night race

I know it's not a cookie cutter but I'd like to see them try out The Rock, yes it is independent, but that gives a great opportunity to NASCAR, you can stick it in on a one race agreement, see how it goes, and negotiate further.

100% in agreement with getting rid of the Roval and going back to racing on the Charlotte tri-oval for the Fall race, going back to Chicagoland and going back to Kentucky. Too bad they tore down Auto Club Speedway because that track was finally a great racetrack with the Next Gen car.

The closeness of Sunday's race wasn't because it was Kansas. It was because it was a GWC finish. Does this video get made if KB doesn't spin and instead Truex easily passes Hamlin and wins by 2 seconds? In that scenario it would have been another above-average Kansas race.

Not only was that finish the closest ever, but IT WAS FOUR WIDE!!!! The 3rd and 4th drivers were right there!

Keep in mind, the cookie cutter tracks may vary. A successful race in Kansas doesn't mean the same will apply to Vegas, or Chicagoland would be brought back (for that, take out TexARSE and have Vegas lose a date). We don't know how the Next Gen car will handle Chicagoland, St. Louis, or Darlington next week. Too soon to tell

This car was made for Chicagoland. Chicagoland was my favorite track they definitely need to bring that place back

My only negative was that Erik jones wasn’t in it. That dude seems to just pop up out of nowhere every time we head to Kansas and compete for the win

Add Chicagoland, make the Kansas Spring Race a Saturday Night race again and remove the R from the Roval

I do want to see the Chicago Street course go away and Chicago land come back. I also do want NASCAR to hold out on the Charlotte Roval thoug. I really like that track and love getting to see road course racing where you can see the entire track that's pretty close to where I live. I hope that they can fix the package and make the racing better there again.

Would be nice if... 1. Homestead was the Championship track again, my hometown, before my current life in Texas. 2. I wish they would bring back Nazareth Speedway! Yes, I know it's virtually gone, but the pavement/grounds where it sat should still be there. Have similar sentiments about the Rock, but fortunately, it's going the way of NWS for some form of revival, which I dig 120%!

Bring back Chicagoland and Rockingham, reconfigure Texas back to it's 1999-2016 configuration. I'll be happy with that.

I think when you consider that especially since we're putting a real road course in the Playoffs, the Roval seems especially unnecessary. IMO, I think the Roval should be maybe a special race. Like, maybe it could be the host of the Clash, or maybe an All-Star Race consolation race for those who attempted to make the All-Star Race but failed to qualify.

We're in a paradox of a situation in which the next gen was made for the gen 6 era schedule and vice versa.

Aside from Chicagoland I don't think we need more. I feel like the schedule is pretty balanced and aside from the street course which is an idea I hope gets sacked altogether for Nascar and the Charlotte Roval which isn't as good as Charlotte Oval I don't see any glaring issues with the schedule. Theres things I'd tweak maybe but we just need the Cup car to not suck on road courses or short tracks but we got Xfinity that is good there and Trucks can also be good so yeah.

The next gen at Kentucky won't do good due to it having little banking which will require the drivers to brake more often which kills off their momentum and with these cars having lower HP and dirty air it will be difficult to pass.

I want to see Chicagoland and Kentucky with the Next Gen car, but I do believe we should only be going to most tracks once a year. Definitely need to improve the short track package.

Yes I would love to see Chicago and Kentucky come back. I doubt it I never wanna say never but I just don’t see it coming. Chicagoland because of the street corse and Kentucky is just gonna needs rebuild the city if they want a race. Plus the fans needa show up to.

I mean we saw this in 22 when next gen started they need charlotte oval twice, Chicagoland back and Kentucky. Scale back road courses and even short tracks until they fix the issues there

Every track in the US over a mile long cup should be racing at.

I think it should be 8 cookie cutters, 8 short tracks (Less than 1.5 miles), 6 road courses, 4 plate races. Remove playoffs and stage racing and go back to full season points. Also change race length up to 1/3 shorter.

I think NASCAR assumed that if the intermediate package was good, the other track types would also produce good racing. I guess I'm not a fan. The race at Kansas was visually appealing, but I miss long off throttle times on entry and having to slowly apply throttle from apex off.

I say 2 more intermediates and thats it. We need to focus on fixing the package on short tracks and road courses and not give up on those. But the two more intermediates includes Chicagoland and a 2nd Charlotte Oval date.

I loved the ending of this race. Kansas is boring to me with the air blocking. That being said, I love the strategies converging. The only way this occurred was with all the cautions. Let’s be very clear the cautions made this possible. Stage breaks really ruin many races for me as it takes away so much strategy for most races.

NASCAR has engineered a car that albeit may race slightly worse on shorts and superspeedways, but races great on intermediates. NASCAR should learn from this car’s intermediate racing for the next car

I dont think we need more of them, I think they just need to stop doing repeats. We don't need two races at Kansas and Vegas. Chicagoland and unfortunately Kentucky would be more appropriate... really sad they tore up Fontana.

One issue with Chicagoland speedway the interstate 80 in joliet massive road construction its a nightmare to drive right now that the only negative about nascar returning

Honestly, I could see them cutting the Chicago Street Course down to 2 years instead of 3 given it was a 3 year option and going to the oval instead. It just makes more sense from a business perspective because they hae to spend so much for the street course and they have a track just waiting to be used an hour away. Make it a Saturday night race in the summer. Not sure attendance is a good excuse not to go to a track considering so many of them that they currently go to proably get maybe 60%. Bristol for example gets terrible attendance for the capacity. Texas isn't great, Richond isn't good, Homestead is okay, even Dega is probably about 80% (there's a lot of empty seats there when they show the stands). Part of the problem is that these races are made into "events!" You have to make it more than just the race. It has to have that sort of canival, party, sporting event feel to it and if there's nothing else going on then it's not going to have that. Another part of the problem is having 2 races at a facility is overkill and I think you create more demand of there's just one, which is why I'd like to see the schedule cut down to 33-34 races and make way for some other tracks. I also think NASCAR needs to think about the big picture rather than trying to just race as many times as they can at their tracks. In the end, I think they actually lose out on the potential this sport has by doing it. They think big, but they act small in a lot of ways and are incredibly stubborn, even to the point of stupidity. If they really want to make NASCAR more than what it is, they can't keep doing the same things they've always done. With that said, they need to find a balance between the tradition of the sport and the modern era of sports and fan engagement.

Chicagoland has to come back , the hype with the street race will be over after this year. The only reason it was interesting was because of the rain, just like COTA first race rain, nothing great there after.

NASCAR shouldn’t add too many more 1.5 mile tracks. I would love to see Chicagoland again but it should take away a date from Kansas. The only 1.5 mile oval that should 2 dates is Charlotte. Atlanta should only have 1 date. Also I think Kansas just surpassed Homestead as the best intermediate track.

We need a good balance of racetrack types as 4 to 5 rc races is fine and add chicagoland and make the 2nd Charlotte date to the oval along with adding 2 more short tracks but stay away from Kentucky speedway

Nascar fixed the miles and a half racing at the expense of short tracks. Hopefully they can fix that and not screw up the mile and a halfs

I think Kentucky is a good middle ground to nail a Cincinnati/Ohio market. There’s nothing else really close by except maybe Indianapolis and that race hasn’t been worth it for a decade at least.

It entirely depends on what nascars current goal is, new fans have fans have zero interest in ovals, I have tried my entire life to get people intrested in nascar and I've only succeeded recently because of the Charlotte Roval, my friends were never intrested in actually going to a race until I told them about Charlotte, now they like the ovals more than the road courses but they never would have given it a chance before If they want new fans, they need more road courses If they want to keep the old fans happy, they need more ovals
