Had a Pit Bull for 14 years. Both of my sons have one too. Its all in how THET ARE RAISED. They are WONDERFUL dogs. ❤

Ive owned 2 in the past when my children were young and never experienced any problems..my staffy dog that i own now 11 years old has give me a dogs life 😂 love her like a child.. thing is she wasnt socialising as a puppy as i worked long hours but hired a dog walker5 times a week so i blame myself for not being a responsible pet parent from the beginning.. so no i dont think pitbull dogs should be banned due to bad owners but if a pitbull attacked my small children would i say the same but many dogs behave like this not just pitbull dogs

Training and socializing are essential the owner has the duty to do both i have a very social blue nose staffishire boxer mix she likes all people but can differentiate between people who like her and people who are not dog people she likes all other dogs but others owners dogs sometimes they don't like her it is usually a older pooch and she has been attracted by other pooches it's sad that other owners don't get to know their breed or train and socialize !

My baby/soul mate I lost 18mths ago. I think about her every single day. She was the best thing that happened to me and I've lost a good friend. She had her moments just like EVERYBODY does. But I loved every single bone in her body. People ought to be trained to look after any animal. Ban one dog , you ban all !!! Can't pick and choose. Bev01-Tilly

I do not think they should be banned. It's not a specific breed. Its an umbrella term for a vast amount of breeds. Like how the UK is addressing XL Bullies. If it meets a certified height, it's banned under the new law. Pitbull is not a breed. They use this term to refer to any dog with certain physical traits: muscular build, wide shoulders, blocky head, etc. These traits are found in several breeds such as the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Rottweiler, Doggue Debordeaux, XL Bullies, Boxer, American Bully, American Bulldog, Olde English Bulldogge, and many more. This would be ridiculous to do.

@kenkroc2296 Can you tell me why the "breed" is not listed with the AKC? Have you researched that?
