Agreed. I'm so sick of the CONSTANT negativity. Yes, oftentimes things could be better, or you might not like everything about a game or show or whatever, but that doesn't necessarily make it terrible. It seems like people can't even acknowledge the things a game does well, or provide genuine constructive criticism for the things it got wrong. It's just become emotional backlash and band wagoning. It fires people up and it gets views and attention. I think a big part of all this is that NOTHING will ever really live up to what you imagined it could be when it actually comes out. It's easy to dream up the perfect game that you specifically would love in your own head, but in reality, it's restricted by budget, management, scope, time, technology, performance, ect. And just because it doesn't live up to your own personal expectations, it doesn't mean it's bad. I remember I had grand ideas of what Reach's campaign would be based off the book, and was honestly disappointed by it when I first played it. I had all these cool ideas in my head of what would have been cool set pieces or missions, and thought it was lame they didn't include that. But I still enjoyed it then and think it's one of the best campaigns today.

@@ytusername1 all of those criticisms are fair. But the positives of halo infinite also still stand merit as well. I just dislike when folks focus only on the negative or positive, with no recognition of reality in between.

I think if it launched feature complete with the full campaign, it would’ve been the best halo.

Yeah I’m the same; saying H3 and Reach are at the bottom for me still means they’re too 10 games all-time.

@@yeehawj24 I’m of the opinion that even with added content, which really just amounts to a few extra modes and maps, the game is really shallow and boring. I told people during the flights that this game did not have a leg to stand on and that it was going die within three months. Even I was shocked that it really only took a couple of weeks for it to be shelved by the vast majority of the player base. I was called a hater for saying that back in 2021, but it was the truth. You can say the game is in better shape now, but last time I tried playing, there wasn’t even a single page of full lobbies on the custom game browser. There were maybe a few thousand people playing the game in total. For a free to play Halo game, those are pathetic numbers. Most players have moved on and have no interest in every really coming back unless Halo does something incredible. However, as long as Halo is being developed by the mediocre at best, incompetent at worst devs at 343, and published by Microsoft, who has clearly demonstrated they are creatively bankrupt, I don’t see Halo ever being relevant again. I don’t say this as a hater or anything, either. I’m a Halo diehard but I just have to call a spade a spade.

I understand your disappointment. One thing that I think really helped my position…. I refuse to play until a year later when campaign co-op came out. I have a tradition of playing every single halo game for the first time with my best friend. Me waiting that one year really really helped because I wasn’t experiencing half of the bugs and lacking content that people playing on day one had. (No excuse to 343 for a poor launch, but it vastly helped my personal experience)

This right here is how I feel like everyone fan of the franchise should approach any new Halo project unless they work at 343 or something and actually have some power to change the next game/direction.

@Hollowtide The easiest way to say this without being super negative, Halo Infinite Multiplayer is just a huge step down from Halo 5 Multiplayer sandbox. None of the weapons besides the BR and Sniper Rifle actually feel satisfying to use. Maybe it’s because all the inconsistent damage output for weapons, grenades, and vehicles or all the brokenness throughout the entire game since released. Then what makes matters worse is we have No accommodation system to reward players across the entire game for playing different, no assassinations, no other playable character, no new vehicles, no vpn blocking no ground breaking aspects to grind for that we haven’t experienced before. Giving players the master chief armor isn’t anything special since its the same one we been using in almost every Halo game. The list could go on forever of the problems with Halo Infinite that players just don’t agree with. Like the fact that I’m forced to play with PC players throughout the entire game and there’s no option to turn this off for Matchmaking and Custom Games is just outrageous. In some ways, it seems like 343 tried to learn from past mistakes and tried to make something epic with Halo 5 multiplayer experience. But since Halo 5 campaign got so much hate most people didn’t really give the multiplayer a chance. Which is why it fills like 343 was kind of angry about it so what they basically did was release something similar to Halo 3 and Reach. It’s not Halo 3 or Halo Reach anniversary that fans desperately want but its something close to it by taking away everything that the casual community enjoys without going to far. I’ve been playing Halo since day 1 and I been trying to have hope for the future of this franchise that we will get something else besides the same old thing. Halo has so much potential but it will never get there until the developers actually stop with trying to play catch up and actually get ahead of the shooter genre, stop making the UNSC armory stronger and more useful then anything else, and stop putting millions of dollars into competitive gaming when a good portion of the video game community doesn’t even care about it. Not trying to take away from what certain people are interested in but the main mission should be release a complete package on day 1 with campaign, multiplayer, firefight, forge, theater and a working custom game browser. Then, later down the road, release something for the competitive community to enjoy and events and new content that everyone can look forward to.

I have heard that making the elite model hitbox work smoothly and fairly in multiplayer was difficult even for bungee. Sure, I’d love to see it from 343. But it is lower on my priorities list.

That’s your time horizon for them learning from their mistakes? It should have been clear after Halo 5 that Microsoft and 343 are incapable of making a successful Halo games at this point. Infinite was just icing on the cake. This franchise is dead until it’s given to a competent dev and publisher.

I think the fallacy with that is that poc who were more talented and experience were passed over in previous generations. If ppl are afraid of stuff being “woke” or whatever, those same ppl tend to want things to never change or improve for anyone but themselves. 🤷🏼‍♂️

@@HollowtideBut now minorities are being prioritized in the hiring process, and we’ve seen the consequences that it’s had in media, both film and games. It’s lead to consistently lower quality. There are people being hired that bring nothing to the table other than being “diverse” (code for: not white). The “anti-woke” crowd are cowards that won’t just say what they really think, and want to hide behind wanting merit-based hiring, but the truth is that games were simply better when they were made by nerdy white guys that just wanted to make a fun game. The statement that “I want people who look like ME to make Halo games” really is telling of the mindset. The priority isn’t making a fun game, it’s that the identity of the people working on the game that is of foremost importance to them.

@Hollowtide I don't use Twitter and games do get second chances but halo infinite lacks so many social and quality of life features. BtB Is fun and they have done a lot of work making that sandbox better but I find the 4v4 gameplay and sandbox to be pretty poor. On top of the game getting no more updates I feel it Is ok to be negative this is reflected in the player numbers too.

@marknunya3107 I have completed every battle pass have well over 1000 hours. The Game lacks a lot in so many areas and the core sandbox/gameplay could be better. If you think the game is great I am happy for you but I think you have low standards.

It takes away from the games resources so they can’t add things like wildlife. Let’s be specific. Don’t be some twerp who talks about missing features and doesn’t elaborate. Be specific. Yeah, CE is probably my favorite. I can't play the new halo games. I just think they suck. They feel soulless and slapped together just for microsoft to get $$$. Hence, microtransactions. Infinite sucked and 5 sucked too.
