I made the decision about a year ago to no longer have sex with men who I would never consider dating and poof...haven't had sex since. I definitely agree with Tunisia that I am not willing to partake in half ass engagements with men in pursuit of sex because I don't want to deal with what's on the market right now. However, I don't feel the need to push other women to do the same thing. I had a great hoe phase and it was great until I no longer enjoyed it. I needed that time and would never try to convince someone else not to. I also am not attached to finding a lifelong partner which doesn't put men on some pedestal for me mentally and doesn't make me feel so pressed to engage with them if I don't want to. All my male friends get no benefits now and I like it that way.

@@thrilla72 so you know I wouldn't touch my x with a 100+ foot poll. Why I stayed with the narcissistic jerk is because I take my vows very seriously. But finally got divorced when my daughter was 13. Now he fought a bunch of dumb stuff so the divorce took about 3 years. During that time I met my second husband and in just a few weeks we will have been married 19 years, he became the dad my daughter never had. His first wife is the one that did him wrong. So here's a novel idea if it's just going to be a one night stand or a occasional friends with benefits thing then be honest. Ya it might not get you laid that night but oh well. Look I'm a child of the 70s and early 80s, it was the last of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. So here's the deal the guys I dated knew up front that until I met the right guy I would be dating other people. In the meantime even if dating more than one guy, if I slept with anyone it would be only one person, not all of them. Did it piss people off ya but I told them the truth. It's hard for me to trust but that doesn't mean I have ever been a jerk about it. See that's also part of building trust, telling the truth. When I met my x that was it didn't date anyone else after, I didn't know or at least realize he was a narcissistic jerk until a few years after we got married and 5 years into the marriage we had our daughter then when he realized I wouldn't be giving him all the attention it got worse. But like I said I made a vow when we got married. But things got to a total breaking point. I didn't date anyone for awhile, I had a few dates but no one caught my interest on any level, until I met my second husband, he did something no one else has ever bothered to try, he broke down the walls I had been building around me since I was little. That's part of the problem to I know I am not the only person that has trust problems because those I was supposed to trust the most as a kid broke that trust. My hubby broke through those walls with patience and caring that turned into true love. Do we argue sometimes ya but not like my x and I. We argue but we don't scream and yell, and we work it out pretty quickly. So you can make jokes and assumptions about people from one comment but you don't know jack about that person. You know what I hear from your little statement. I hear a little boy crying and screaming because they can't find someone to be in a real relationship with and for that matter can't even get laid. Got news for you kid, even if a woman has a one night stand which is fine it shows she's strong in her self, I only have a problem with anyone having a one night hook up when that person is married or in a committed relationship. Both of those things means you have taken a vow of some kind even if it's just the vow made to be in a serious relationship. And strong single woman still aren't going to have a one night stand if they don't have a little trust and the person needs to also have at least some respect for others. Your comment shows you don't have respect. So I doubt you will find any women that is or stays interested in you. Have a nice single life.

@@josue.ortega your very right it takes the right mind set to fully be committed. Holding hands, cuddling on the couch watching a movie and the rest of the so called sappy stuff. In a few weeks hubby and I will be married 19 years and I'm 57 he's 60 and we still do all that sappy stuff. Some times the sappy stuff is the most important thing.

Interesting discussion, one thing that turns me off with casual s3x is the lying that alot of men do to get what they want, don't dangle a relationship. It takes away choice for women because they're doing thinking a relationship will form, be upfront and if that's not what she wants move on to somebody that does want casual. And in the post roe v wade world women can't afford to get pregnant with a hook up not in this economy

I do want to throw in a caveat. Lying is one fork in the conversation. But alot of dangling also happens when women don't speak up about the relationship that they desire. Lying definitely takes away choice, but women do forfeit choice to avoid mistreatment or rejection. So even though I understand why a woman would forfeit agency in pursuing the relationship that they unapologetically want, out of fairness, I think we must define the context. Also, at a certain point, I think have to learn when to shift conversations towards encouraging men to be better instead of prioritizing ragging on them. In the quest for equitable relationships and partnering, I'm starting to see how society in turn gets lost in trauma and defining responsibility but loses sight of balance or an autonomously defined goal.

Exactly! Don't trick casual sex out of a woman that you clearly know wants a relationship. I wouldn’t say broke and insecure men don’t deserve sex but I think it’s not advantageous for women to be with men who have those traits in either Casual or non-casual situations. Especially with how our abortion rights are looking right now.. idk but I don’t think it’s smart to risk pregnancy with someone that if push comes to shove, can’t help you raise a child. And, that’s not me trying to place the burden of responsibility on women; I’m just saying ciswomen may have more to consider.

If you are focusing on the sex you aren't getting all the time, try finding other interests. You have to change your mindset. I'm not saying it's easy but I didn't have sex until my thirties and I didn't die. There were lonely nights I bayed at the moon 😭🤣 but I was always reading, or working on personal development, spiritual development, my community, my business, and and family I don't have much sympathy if you aren't getting the poom because it's not our to you like air or something, it only feels like it 😭🤣 When you are single this is when you can grow your talents the most, and give to your community, once your with kids you won't have as much time or you'll have to sacrifice one thing for the other. Plus when you are married with kids you don't even have much time to spend in the bedroom because you'll be busy or tired 😭🤣

I really did find it interesting that no one really engaged with the man on his very reasonable and valid point that not all guys are having sex…. And the implied answer that I perceived from this is it seems like from this panel that we want the “ benevolent patriarch” … How are we challenging relationship and sexual norms/mores/ etc- I think a lot of us need to go back to the drawing board and really figure out what it is that we truly desire, want and need- and find a way of bringing some form of synergy between them. Also, respectful engagement doesn’t always mean longevity. And we really do need to have more discussions about how capitalism: market ideology affects our ability to be intimate and do relationships. There were a LOT of classist/elitist comments that need to be further unpacked. Shout out to all the decent human beings stuck in shit jobs, with limited accesss to higher education or opportunities that give you a better dating/ intimate partner score… Desirability politics and the sexual economy need to be addressed as real issues that affect lots of people.

In general, there’s more physical and social risk for women/people with vulvas when they decide to engage in sexual activity with men/people with penises. IMHO, decisions regarding (voluntary) celibacy are the outcome of a risk assessment in which an individual decides the risk of engaging in sexual activity (especially casual) is higher than what the individual is comfortable taking on. A widespread sex strike would require all strike participants to come to the same conclusion on the risk assessment, so it’s unlikely. At the end of the day, making that risk assessment is a highly personal decision.

I think the problem comes when people believe their sexual life and relationship dynamics should be the norm. You can say that sex has become cheaper and the paradox of choice makes people have shorter relationship. However, some people enjoy casual sex/relationship and some others dislike it even some choosing to be celibate. I would love for Shan to make a discussion with people on the asexual spectrum.

I think the problem comes in when people who are only interested in casual sex knowingly try to get sex from people who are interested in relationships. When your intent is dishonest and opposite to the person you're dealing with you're cheating the other person. If you go into it honestly and dealing with someone who has the same perspective that's fine. But that's not generally how it happens. If you can't tell the difference then your best option would be to abstain vs. Being damaged.

There are many men who feel threatened by women who are above them, there might be a reason why they look down and for a long time it’s been a general norm for many reasons in the patriarchy. I’m sure many women have gone for and/ stuck with those guys (much to their own detriment) or been forced to but now we get more of a choice and many want to make a good one which is great. This is a pedantic note and I'm aware of that. During this conversation the word "deserve" was used a few times in a place where I feel like "entitled to" would have been more accurate. Towards the end of the video there was talk about broke, insecure dudes needing to focus on themselves rather than thinking they "deserve a partner". I am of the belief that every human deserves to experience love and pleasure with those who want to share it with them. If this were reworded to "broke, insecure dudes need to focus on themselves rather than thinking they're >entitled to< a partner" it would ring much truer for me, personally. The intended message still got across and I absolutely applaud all of you for having these discussions so openly❤

BUT I don't engage in casual sex either because I feel discarded and hurt after. So can men just give us a little more respect and emotion without having to tie each other down? Not everyone has to be a life partner. Can we just be open to love that's fun without possessing each other? Not sure if this is a healthy outlook but that's what I want.

When the dude started speaking about the Men's point of view, it was very insightful as most of the women were clueless about our side. This is the current reality for high majority of Men in the marketplace. You have to truly become exceptional in order to be visible to women. It's tough, but it calls us to a higher standard so I am not mad we just need to level up as Men.

Many lots of men aren't having sex, but they have limitless amounts of porn. Which generally repels women. So chose.. porn or real human contact and intimacy. Why would a woman give up her heart when you're lusting daily over other easier women?

How is the last part any different from womanizers/fckbois who lust daily after women? It's fine when a playboy is shared by multiple "liberated" women but not the opposite? Such faulty logic

Sex is so detached from childbirth and biology. If BC methods didn’t exist, or abortion was not an option, things would be different. I don’t want to risk pregnancy, std’s or bond with someone casually. I’ve never been into it, it disgusts me

Hey boo! WARNING long time watcher giving unsolicited and uneducated production opinion lol ❤ IN MY HUMBLE OPINION as the watcher, it helps elevate production value if: 1. Theres sound effects here and there and or a low hum of music in the background 2. Theres almost constant changing between shots of a person talking and then maybe a close up of the hosts response and then wide shot of everybody etc etc etc maybe even inserts of the stats u mention or books u talk about even pictures of celebrities mentioned etc etc etc 3. I know ur more of a candid convo type of host which is perfect and works so well and is really unique but maybe giving a very clear intro that defines you as some sort of host (like u do in ur podcast) and then like transition between questions and topics with graphics and such to remain structured in convo and then maybe throw in some interactive games/activities and what not just to visually stimulate the consumer while also being entertaining I say this as someone who would watch ur vids in literally ANY format, u could upload a picture of a dog for an hour and maybe id watch that because i support ur content so hard. i just see big ass things for u like u could be on some talk show host shit forreal. Love u lots.

THAT'S who she reminds me of.....I was racking my brain trying to remember to who she looked like. She's had some shade in the comments, but what people neglect to see is that as a DSBW who is (presumably) dating BM, she is probably seen not to deserve to be courted or treated decently. She's also probably attracted a lot of dudes who don't feel the need to provide for her either or want to go 50/50 or have her pay for most things. Hence why she focused on broke men not having sex. Tunisia has responded to other comments, so if I'm off base here maybe she'll let me know.

I totally disagree that people who may not be making enough money or have a low self esteem should not not be quality to have sex .😩😩.It was not until I learn and become comfortable with masturbation that helps me to become comfortable and build a high self esteem that I don't have to be desiring sex from anyone .😃😃

Lol I guess I'm the exception. I've been an Uber driver. And I could still get it. But, I'm definitely not a slouch in the looks department. Not the greatest at social skills. But being nice, good-looking, and knowing how to dress myself. Will cover a multitude of sins. If an extremely attractive woman just wants to have a little fun. So to speak. Also, I don't have a college degree and have never made over 40k a year. Dating apps are where I go if I don't want to talk to a woman. Ever. Because all that stuff will definitely hinder me. But Irl the women are definitely the ones that come after me. And I'm of 2 minds. One side says, "Yeah, go on, get it." If that's what you want. But the other side says, "I'm not sure I'll enjoy it." With my past of just eh, it was a thing I did. They had fun. Because I'm not out here half assing it. But, I'd much rather talk about it beforehand and discuss likes and dislikes and have some sort of relationship with them. Or at least that's where I stand right now. I'm trying to get a relationship going. Not trying to hit it and quit it.

Single men should not have access to sex. Strictly because men complain about the women who are for the streets, but also want to partake in women who are from the streets, but want near virginal women for themselves. To protect ourselves and have the non serious men self eliminate themselves so no one's time is wasted sex should be reserved for marriage. Like it was stated, men have too much access now and feel entitled to your body the way things are now.

As a 29-30ish man who is unwilling virgin having a very hard time trying to have any kind of sex. I probably been sexually damaged so much I have a hard time getting to any inmaite place with a female. Cuz I think from being molested and see not only my sister get sataory rape. But other females that I friends with keep getting harassed and rape and stuff. And with me trying to deal with that plus also my multiple disabilities. It is hard to find myself in a place to interact with other females how i attracted to. But the whole poor n***** don't deserve no p**** narrative. Makes me feel worthless because I can't produce any of the funds or Stability of female wants or needs. It kindly leads me to the hole I'm just gonna die alone thought.

@Ray Allen So do you perceive I have no hobbies and don't work out at all because that's pretty Persumptuous of you. Even if I didn't do it wouldn't make a difference to my disability. The problem is when I'm out I do not feel comfortable or safe anywhere because I pass out at any time. Me passing out in a lot of different areas just because I was trying to just be out and try to get comfortable with it Or even try to get a job or hang out at a wave or convention or Whatever. I still will pass out in a public place Putting myself in danger of my stuff getting stolen, Passing In a place that's not safe like the sidewalk or middle of a floor, We're able to plan anything with anyone because at any time I hang out with anyone it doesn't make a difference what we're doing I can fall asleep and that will waste a full length of somebody's time. It's trying to do stuff regularly and not having a full night's sleep in years.

Wow this feels so archaic to me as if sex was some kind of service or reward women give to men. (As was mentioned around 4:17). It's so interesting how far we've come with becoming sexually liberated yet these conversations reveal how a lot of people's real life mindset has a lot of catching up to do with our modern ideas. Like "the market is over saturated"?! "Increasing scarcity"?? Haven't we been fighting to not be objectified, yet we're still seeing sex as a commodity? Like I have sex for me, for my pleasure. Not to get anything else out of it. This is not meant as an attack btw just thought I'd share my angle 😘
