Hi all I just wanted to add we’ve been over in October for three years running iand security looked no worse than we see. The departure area very much quieter. TBH it’s an absolute pleasure compared to Gatwick on our way out. Can’t even find two seats together. We’re braving it this year and coming in September. So sorry to see the beach bars gone in Alcudia. One of our main pleasures of a lunchtime. Thank you so much for your videos they help us remember and prepare.

Have to say you were very lucky! We travelled a week ago (Friday morning flight) and experienced the chaos that has been widely reported. Over an hour to clear security (and only then thanks to some other very kind travellers), a race to Terminal C only to be faced with another long queue to clear passport control. All told it was a very stressful 2 hours from entering the airport to boarding our plane. Thankfully we only had cabin baggage and Jet 2 kindly held the flight to allow all those caught up in the fiasco to board which delayed the flight. Hopefully now resolved.

All quiet yesterday (good Friday). I would say it took around 10 minutes to leave the plane and get through security and then an extra 10 minutes to walk out with our suitcase

Half an hour at security isn't too bad. We waited over 2hrs at Heathrow T5 to catch a connecting flight to Glasgow after an overnight from Orlando. That was horrific. Anyway, 2 weeks tomorrow we fly to Majorca for a short break. So excited as it's been 6 years since we've been✈️😎

Coming over August2024 with family&grandaughter we flown in to Palma de Mallorca plenty of times for summer holidays so know what to expect.But once clear of immigration just got to look for our driver to take us straight to hotel,private transfer sure beats sitting on coach waiting for others to clear immigration,can sometimes be at hotel booking in at least 1hour befor any more coaches turn up with travellers.

Was flying home from Palma to Edinburgh on Thurs 28th March .Arrived at just after 8am 3 hrs before our flight . Security Queue was about 30 mins and passport control about 20 mins this was at gate C

I flew back from Palma Airport on Tuesday and got through check in & customs without any problems and quite quickly….

To be fair I came back last Friday and it was chaos. Security strike, conveyor belts not working and we were like sardines. One fella in front of us fainted..medics were on hand fortunately. We boarded the plane 15 mins late but TUI fair play to them waited for us all. Hope things have improved since

I have both arrived and flown out from Palma Airport to and from the U.K. in September and a week ago in March. Both times there were no delays at security at all, very quick and efficient. Obviously, online check-in and hand luggage only, saves a lot of time. My biggest gripe about the airport, it seems like having to walk for miles at arrivals before finally getting to the exits and at departures there are hardly any benches to rest, apart from the numerous food courts, to wait for the gate info …only one in a children’s play area ( without an info board) which then again involves a long walk as it’s split into C and D areas etc before even walking towards the gates themselves, then at the gate stairs, tarmac ( shuttle even) and stairs again to the aircraft . My daughter, different flight, also experienced outright hostility from passport control, officer started at her and literally slammed her British passport down at her ( and no, she isn’t nor looks look like the dreaded typical Magaluf tourist )

Really sorry to hear that. The airport is so big as it's one of the biggest airports in Europe handling flights coming in from so many destinations but you are right, they do need more seating. I would really recommend considering flight assistance next time... you'll be through in a flash!

@@MallorcaUnderTheSun lol..my son suggested that too, but it’s best to walk a bit before a flight.. I read somewhere that the original design for Palma Airport was supposed to be for San Francisco, but got rejected. That might account for the big sprawling building and distances to everything .

Is there any point arriving 3 hours early when some airlines don’t allow checkin until 2 hours before your flight?

Ha, that is a very good point. I think if you have just hand luggage, then maybe 2.5 hours is fine. But the irony of airlines asking for 3 hours here we are hoping they'll although an earlier check in! It's Ryanair so....
