Here is just a quick video I threw together for you guys who might be on the fence about getting a 1 series N52/N54 or N55.
If you're looking for reliability and you're not going to really tune the car hard you may find this video useful or worst case entertaining.

Good video! Very knowledgeable. Looking forward to picking up my 125i, have got it booked in for a remap to run at 280bhp.

Might be wrong but that looks like the sports steering in the 135i. Great video

i was able to test drive both cars the day i bought my 128i, and after test driving the 135i the check engine light came on LMAOO took it right back and said lemme take the 128i. Its my first car, had it for about 2 years. got at 47k, 69k now... i've done all my maintenance and repairs/upgrades myself (only just started working on cars when i GOT the car with youtube videos lol) and the car has had no problems. recently got a new valve cover and gasket done @ dealership under SULEV warranty, which i'm not sure if the 135i are under.

Here in South Africa, we don`t get the 128 instead we get the 125. Very fun and reliable cars if well maintained. Happy more miles with your 128i.

I maybe wanna get a 125i with the N52. My father has a Z4 with the same N52 engine and it never made any problems over its whole live (100k+ kms). I would like to see how the infotainment system is tho bc it’s between this F20 125i (2010) and a Cupra 280 (2014).

I went with a 135i n55 for added reliability. My mechanic had a 128i for a track car and autocross. He said the n/a engine was better for track.

Congratulations and many happy miles 🙌🏽. I always recommend the N55 for daily use and reliability. We didn't get the 128i but the 125i and 130i instead which I would assume produce similar power but nothing like the 135's 💪🏾.

@@FyaVlogs 1 series for the win! affordable way into bmw world. car has been keeping me happy for about 4 years now. it could always be faster but i found myself diving into suspension mods as of late to make handling better. any model is fast enough on a canyon road. the handling makes it more enjoyable.

Hi can you confirm the 125i is an N52 engine and not N54. I had no idea there's no turbo. Bit disappointed about that

100% Correct. It's an N52 and they are naturally aspirated. If you want turbo then it will have to be the N54 or N55.

I never known and already in the process of purchasing a 125i. Looking at all the reviews now to get comfort that it's still able to perform well😅

All 1 series petrol cars are not turbo except the 135i and then the diesels. How could you be disappointed when they offer both. BMW have been renowned for high quality 6 cylinder naturally aspirated engines for decades, how would you possibly be disappointed about that?
