The Avenger Titan is my starter and so far this patch has earned me 30 million aUEC. Bunkers, Bounties, smuggling, you name it.

The Avenger has always been my favorite starter. Absolutely beautiful, great cockpit view, nice interior, with bed and 2 entrances, good weapons and cargo. Great all a rounder and best bang for your buck.

I’ve always recommended the Avenger Titan as a first starter upgrade. It’s a smart and inexpensive upgrade that will afford you far better gameplay than upgrading to a higher tier Mustang or Aurora. I should be one to talk though. I’m still using my original Kickstarter Aurora. 😂

There’s nothing like doing some simple delivery missions in my titan from time to time. Just because it’s such a joy to fly and to look at.

If I was going to buy a game package today and wanted something with a little more than the Aurora or Mustang, I'd probably pick up a Titan. Though Aurora and Mustang can still earn you quite a bit pretty quickly. That said, the 325a is also a great contender if you want something more combat-focused. Yes you lose the ramp and some storage. Yes, it's a bit of a pain to get in. And yes, the rear wing is made of paper mache (especially with how ballistics are now; flingers crossed we get ship armor implemented soon). However you get a ship that is much faster (224 SCU speed) and can be loaded with a bunch of missiles (plus the multi-missile lock if/when that is implemented). Plus it looks stylish as hell. I have no real regrets with it. As for the next "Should You Buy," what about the Vanguard and its variants?

Damn your voice is so cool. This ship is a no brainer. And with a fixed size 3 laser cannon on the nose, you’re actually not that defenseless. And it’s one of the coolest looking ships imo.

Titan was my starter ship and while I've had experience with every starter ship they offer, but it's a great ship. I now daily the cutter as my starter but I still have the avenger as I'm holding on to it cus of the eminent price increase. I will say tho once you move towards much specialized ships or get a bigger general purpose ship like the cutlass, the Titan is something that's not as attractive in terms of coming back to

I would love to be able to start with this ship if I ever get the game myself, but it costs a little over a hundred dollars in my country. I would not be able to afford it for quite a while.

With 8 SCU you could even trade gold and make a pretty easy 40-50k profit per hour. Pretty much zero risk and it’ll allow you to rent any type of ship to see what profession you want to delve into. Whether that’s salvage, trading, bounty hunting, mining, or something more sinister.

Bought the Gatac Syulen as my starter ship and whilst it looks cool, it's a bit of a pain to dock/land. Also take a while to get into the cockpit. I got the titan as an addition and it's much easier to get into the game with.

Nice summary. I would say Cutter or Aurora for the next "should you buy". Maybe Connie Andromeda at somepoint, but seems like that's a fair bit up the price ladder.

It would be my favorite ship if it had a bigger QT fuel tank and a nicer interior. The design, engine sounds and feeling of it is unmatched

u should really start with the cheapest option.. to silence the p2w and scam preachers... a mustang alpha is realy all you need. everything else is achievable ingame with that ship.

No one should pay more than the minimum starter package on this undeveloped tech demo until it reaches beta at the earliest. Otherwise it is wasted money that could easily be used on an actual developed and supported game.

He's not wrong. I finally bought the $45 package a few days ago after years of KZfaq watching. My first 24 hours were rough. It feels like the game is fighting against me at every turn for trying to do very basic things. Also got hit with disconnects at least 10 times. It's not a good way to welcome new players but I'm used to challenges being a flight simmer and general lover of hard games personally so I'll keep gritting through this.

@@Kraken9911 best of luck. Current servers are dealing with the IAE, nice to look at and the ships on display you can test fly for free in game. But all game contracts are is some way severely borked or unusable until the free fly is over and the patch has some updated to address the problems. Good to test fly but not much else.

@@Kraken9911 I feel you, I started playing about the time you posted this comment, first week playing was rough learning all the little fiddly things and also learning about known bugs and simple fixes (like missiles suddenly not restocking, shader related graphic bugs, courier missions being way harder due to bugginess of packages, etc) but at this point I'm really enjoying the game, stopped focusing on trying to make money and instead just slowed down the approach I would take to most games, learned more of the controls, explored major hubs etc to get more familiar, tried out as many different gameplay loops as possible, and doing more combat (outposts, bounties etc) and the game is so fun. it's not for everyone, and it can be hard to remember that it's still in 'alpha' state because of how good the games looks when ur playing, but there's just a feeling you get playing this game that is hard to get anywhere else.
