Ooo, I am the beginner you were talking about. I tried biabotical on epic, I rly liked it. But not having played quake before got me rly confused with all the keybinds. This more accessible version of it looks exactly what I’m looking for! (I’m also a rogue-like nutter)

It is a great game, i love afps but am not born and bred in the arena. All those hating on new age weapons or no strafe... where were you when the first dbt died? You all said QL is better anyway. Now its dead and you cry about DbR not being a pure arena shooter? They would have focused on afps, but the audience for those games has NO interest in another title after QL. Afps died to old man syndrome. I want strafe too, but lets not pretend like we dont know why its not in there now.

As somebody who loves the movement in TF2 and Reflex Arena, I'm also enjoying this game. (Also I think I played some games with you haha).

I think part of the problem gave devs have about "accessibility" is that voice is always going to be louder than "hey I like how things are now", because theres no reason to say this. Let me tell you a counter-story to the "im the new player that was overwhelmed with all that movement and made me scared to try before!!": You know who got me into quake? You. Unironically. I was long time cs player with like 10k hours across all their titles. I always liked the way you casted cs and one time I randomly came across a quake tournament game (rapha v Cypher where cypher destroyed on Aerowalk) that you were casting. That alone gave me sort of a level of familiarity and casting style and you helped me understand what was cool about quake. Then I tried it and it was hard to pick up, but I LIKED the depth and skill ceiling of the movement. To me, I have no nostalgia for quake as I didnt play it. I use QC as a warmup/aim training/zone out and just use slash to skate around against bots. I like the skating/movement that much. I would never watch or play a quake that has the movement that Diabotical rogue has right now. That said, I understand what youre saying but imo theres no future there and dont think its the way forward.

I really like the idea of rogue like elements in a fps. Great video!

My only problem is the progression cards, some of them are insane but you never see them , or you can full spec a weapon and it gets changed

Im really enjoying the game. Og diabotical was my first afps and it really hurt me that the old heads didn't move from other games into dbt because the amount of customization was insane and ive been chasing that high ever since

the card system seems like their version of the CSGO economy. except, in CS, the things you buy are visible on the player and are very significant. these cards are much less impactful than buying an AWP for example, and they aren't communicated to players visually, so you have no idea what you're up against. randomized loadouts are annoying, especially since you have a bunch of generic FPS hitscan weapons mixed in with classic quake weapons. who wouldn't prefer the latter in every case?

This is going to be a hard sell for me. I don't care about classes, pickups, game modes, weapons, item timings etc. but movement was always the thing that gives these games a baseline of fun.

Honestly while playing this did make me feel good about my aim, can t shake the felling that this is a carcass of diabotical

Will Diabotical ever get released on Steam?

This games problem seems to be associating itself with quake or AFPS at all. Also the low population could be helped with ai bots to fill the voids, just need them ti be good bots like old UT bots

Im keeping it in my library and not asking for a refund to support 2gd. Also I hear that he will make the movement have a little more 'character'. so im sure i wont be gone for long

This game looks fun. I grew up with halo and cod. Don't enjoy battle royales. Really lame to see most movement shooters nowadays are battle royales with really annoying looting and really annoying 3rd partying. Will say tho the game on steam charts has.. 90 players right now. The game looks really fun, but i worry about ping or even just getting invested in a game without players. My hero ultra rumble gets a bigger fan base than this game... Maybe that'll change tho. It'd be fun if a game like this was more mainstream

The 16v16 gamemode is nonsense, what even is a 16vs16 warm up?

I would try it for free. But i dont see any future for this, so just dont want waste my money. Sadly, online numbers says how its going.

This game was a waste of money, not enough players and the only people who play are die hard arena fans who have tons of experience in these games. Not playing arena games with other people who are new is the worse way to get into Arena shoooters. Im not going to waste my time, there is nothing redeeming about this game so far.
