I have this set. They work great!. I have dropped them a few times on hard floors and they are fine. Get a little static now and then that seems environmental. Mine sounds great. I don't notice much if any significant latency. I know that different systems us different frequency's. Such as 8.4g and UHF. These are 2.4g I agree that for recording you should always use a cable.

Yeah after using them a few times (most recent being in the video I uploaded yesterday haha) I definitely get some static when I move around, but that is few and far in between. 😁👍

I’d totally agree on the latency thing. It’s slightly noticeable but it didn’t bother me. Moving away from your amp by a few meters will give you the same delay as a digital transmitter does, so there you got. BUT! Analog transmitters don’t have latency (not in any relevant way at least, just like you wouldn’t speak of latency with a cable). Just wanted to point that out. Good analog wireless systems are VERY expensive to this day though.
@HHGGS
@HHGGS 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah agreed, I'll just use cables for now haha. If anything, the latency is actually pretty similar to the (very few) times I play Rocksmith 2014. I think that's due to my nonexistent sound card though LOL. Just kinda adjust your playing to be a tiny fraction before the beat and it's still fun haha

I bought these and tried to use them for a signal from my paddleboard to my mixing board. After about 90 minutes of use, the signal started to drop out and I had to go to a quarter inch cable. Spend the money for better product.

Yeah I noticed battery life is an issue with this product. In fact it even died when I used it to record a video a year prior. Now all I use it for is light jam sessions when I don't feel like fishing a cable around the chairs on the floor lol

@@HHGGS I just purchased the Westshell Wireless 5.8GHZ. It has multi channel and 5 hours battery. I’ll let ya know how it goes.

Haha thanks man! I freaking love the riffs. That plus Goose intro/bridge is one of those I riffs want to always be able to play from memory (albeit poorly lol) I did cover the song earlier on my channel though: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h8qnpLuLkrfZkpc.html

I sold my WS-70 and baught the WS-50. I found that altho the WS-70 is good in terms of signal frequency, it sucks your tone so much (only has 86db dymanic range). The WS-50 which has true 110db, much closer to real cable tone. I play aggressively that's why I noticed immediately the volume dip when using the WS-70. Its as if the signal/output is compressed. Unlike the WS-50 which sounds so full and rich. Even compared it to my Mogami cable and the WS-50 tone is so close. The only downside is it runs on 5.8ghz which is not so bad 😅
@HHGGS

If the WS-50 is around the same price then that definitely sounds like a better deal. I'll admit the reason I haven't used the WS-70 is battery issues. Only lasts 30mins before requiring a charge for whatever reason. Low quality Li-ion battery I guess lol.

@@HHGGS Just also wanted to clarify that Im referring to the Lekato WS-50, NOT the Swiff WS-50. The Swiff WS-50 is basically the clone of the Lekato WS-70 which sucks your tone. Lekato WS-50 is what you wanna get (the black one).

I think a long cable would have more latency or tone drop...
@HHGGS
@HHGGS 2 жыл бұрын
Good point. The biggest "latency" I think is the literal distance between you and the speaker. It's why I first compared it with me sitting in the exact same spot as I normally do with a cable plugged in. That being said, I still noticed a bit of latency, clearly not enough to mess up my recording when I used it in another video haha.
@MrAntisound
@MrAntisound Жыл бұрын
@@HHGGS No it's not, sound travels at 2000 meters per second, so if you're 2 meters away from your speaker it takes the sound 1 milisecond to travel to your ear. That's less than the latency of any of these cable free solutions.
@MrAntisound
@MrAntisound Жыл бұрын
I don't think so, electrical signals travel at near lightspeed through a cable. And if you use a buffer you have no tone drop.

I get a fair amount of hiss when not playing. Otherwise it is a pretty good system it seems. Not sure why I get the hiss, could be my environment and all of my WiFi and other things.
@HHGGS

And it's only when you're using the product? You're actually not the only one, maybe try turning up the noise reduction in your effects chain? I personally didn't have any problems but I should've tested it without the noise reduction to see the difference between cable or wireless.

@@HHGGS - No, it has a hiss when not playing, and this is with NO effects chain. With cord, no hiss at all, dead silence, with WS-70 strong hiss as if I had a long effects chain all powered up. I have a feeling it might be a problem with my EMG active pickups. They warn about using this with active pickups but all sorts of people have said they have no issues. I have a new set of Ammoon AM-G5 to test out and see how they work. The Ammoon's are supposed to support active pickups just fine.

@@HHGGS - well, I have now tested the Lekato WS 70's and the Ammoon AM-G5's .. compared to cabled .. all are running through a Boss Katana 50 Mk II straight, no effects peddles, no effects on. Guitar I am testing with is Schecter Hellraiser with EMG active pickups. With guitar volume at 0% (off) everything is perfectly silent when cabled. Guitar volume 100% (not playing), everything still silent on cabled. With WS 70's and guitar volume at 0% I have a relatively strong hiss. With guitar volume 100% and not playing, the same strong hiss, no real change. With the AM-G5's, almost identical to the WS 70's but just a slightly lower tone hiss that isn't quite as smooth (a little garbage mixed in). When playing the hiss is not audible with either system, as I am sure the guitar tones are simply over-powering the hiss sound. I have also tried different channel combinations, etc. I detected no difference whatsoever. My take is, both the WS 70's and AM-G5's are fantastic wireless setups for the money, can't really beat them. The hiss is a little annoying to me but I grew up playing guitar in the 80's so the hiss doesn't sound any different than those days and is actually not quite as bad. I can live with it for some things. For studio recording type setup, not going to use them, but for jamming around the house to my favorite heavy metal covers, no problem, both of these systems will do just fine. If I actually played live gigs still, I would probably use these for that as well. I kind of prefer the WS 70's at this point because the "hiss" isn't as radical (smoother) and they are shaped a little more convenient. The AM-G5's are a little bigger and bulkier. Either way, I have a pair of wireless systems that will work fine for most of my own application. Oh, just to note, I have not been able to test with passive pickups yet. I still haven't finished re-building the electronics on my Kramer (Duncan pickups) and my acoustic also has active pickups (same exact hiss sound on that too, by the way). As soon as I finish the work on my Kramer I will test that out to see if it is just a case of the active pickups. I suspect that at least a portion of the hiss probably is because of the active pickups.
@HHGGS

@@squidly2112 hmmm, I would say defective product but other reviews I've seen of this definitely commended on a hiss as well :/ Oh, but yes! test on passive pups as well, I'm curious if active makes that big of a difference!
@squidly2112
@squidly2112 3 жыл бұрын
@@HHGGS - I am suspicious of my active pickups being the problem with these wireless devices. As soon as I can finish my Kramer electronic rebuild I can test with some Duncan passive pickups. That should be a good indicator. I do like these wireless things, just not suitable for any "purity" playing. Still fun though!
