I recently purchased this! This is the Kinhank 500GB Super Console. It is fantastic value for money but should you buy it? #batocera #Kinhank #emulation #retrogaming

I have one of these and one of the first things to do is clone it to an SSD, gives it a bit of a boost and its less prone to being borked than the second user platter drive thats fitted. Next get rid of all the stuff you dont want and the duplicates of which there are quite a few.

Ive ordered one as a backup drive for all the roms and bios. A source to get things from when needed for my already built Batocera machine on a Beelink SER 5
@Cellis24444 ай бұрын
that's a cracking machine, im legitimately jealous coz thats what i wanted but my budget wouldnt quite stretch that far. Let me know how it is for xbox360 and ps3 emulation if you give that a try
@CDubya.824 ай бұрын
@@Cellis2444 PS3 is pretty decent. Xbox360 is very limited. I mainly use 360 on it for the leaked 360 version of GoldenEye that never officially released. Hopefully 360 Emulation gets better.

Update: for discreet grtaphics cards, you must update the boot config at the root of the drive. I have NVIDIA so you remove the hash # infront on enable NVIDIA driver and save the conf file. Then it completes booting into batocera. Warning ⚠️ Batocera drives like these do not fully boot on ASUS TUF laptops! It starts up and shows the initial splash screen video, then just does nothing. It never gets to the emulator selection screen. It just stays a black screen or turns the laptop off after the intro video. I paid for two, both failed I created my own and flashed batocera directly myself to a drive and it failed to get past the intro video as well. Be forewarned these do not work on the TUF ASUS gaming laptop. FA706IH-RS53 model

Always assume the media is on the brink of failing (cheap as chips chinese source) so flash a copy of batocera onto a decent ssd, copy the games files and emulator files over, then just keep the cheap drive as backup. Also, nothing forcing you to copy all games over, so a smaller ssd is fine.
@Cellis24445 ай бұрын
true, id personally rather make my own drive with all the games on. I thought this video would be a good idea for the more casual retro gamers
@tonyhawk1235 ай бұрын
@@Cellis2444 i think there is a wide gap between casual gamers and those who build their own batocera drives. The latter is incredibly time consuming.

What is the best way to copy all the files on the hard disk to a new hard disk?
@grantschubach51635 ай бұрын
Emulation is the way to go.
@Cellis24445 ай бұрын
it really is, there are so many advantages to doing it. You can keep using emulators on newer systems rather than older gaming systems becoming obsolete due to further bettering technology. Also 1 thing I love about emulation is that I am a live streamer and since I have all my emulation done through a mini pc as my daily driver (link is here is you wanna check that out kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b9ikfNN8qM28gKc.html ), I dont need to have my office filled with all kinds of different consoles and cables everywhere lol

Good afternoon. Help is needed. I bought the same one (blue label) for 500 g. Today in Windows all the games are in place, the disk is full. When I boot from the disk, it says that there are only 11 games and there are no PlayStation or others at all...... Does anyone have any idea?

Hi, please do you know if there is also some similar HD for android tablet? I would like to upload such a comprehensive collection to my android tablet with the same UI.

@@Cellis2444what did you try exactly & what went wrong? I downloaded individual emulators on my Pixel & a lot of stuff runs a lot better than I expected given its only a 6a. my only stink is Google decided to leave USB-C to HDMI out!! 😤 any recent tablet should be able to do the same. I use Daijishō as the front end which does a respectable job but it is nowhere even close to the refinement Batocera Linux is! (which is a full on gaming OS not just a pretty GUI) - managing your collection on Android is kinda a pain.

What if you're only interested in a few games or consoles on the device. Can I get rid of the ones that I'm not interested in and replace them with other games.

@larryalmeida3267 not a clue, unfortunately. Look at my video of making your own batocera drive. That would probs be a better one for yourself as you can add your own games on

@brettrigby22266 ай бұрын
@@udance4ever Yes this is a good point, a blue ray only reads data at 4.5 meg anyway. the difference is the spin up speed though. A laser will pull data at a steady rate where as a mechanical doesn't as it relies on many variables - RPM of the plate, side of the chunks being read. A 4.5 meg blueray disk will always pull data at a more stable rate
