It's a shit premium. It's NOT more agile and it's slow for a Leopard. Other tanks are either faster or more armored.

@@collander7766 Why isn't it shit? Its round is okay. It's gun handling is bad. It's mobility is poor. It has no armor to compensate for poor mobility. Gen 1 thermals are nice, but gen 2s are as low as 8.0 now. The tech tree Leo 1A5 is a better tank then the A1A1L44.

@@spray916 it’s just as shit as comparable vehicles from different nations. M60 is worse at basically all of that. The 1A5 is for all intents and purposes basically equal to the L/44 and there’s nothing wrong with that.

@@collander7766 "basically equal" L44 has worse pen, and worse mobility. Only thing the L44 does better is spall due to the 120mm dart. There are many 9.0s that are straight up better vehicles then the L44. AMX-30 Super is a good example. It does everything the L44 does, but does it better in most ways. OF-40MTCA is also a better tank. So it's the XM-803. Why? They're mobility, with a decent round, and good gun handling. Those are just the MBTs off of the top of my head.

@@xslashx1908 i havent done the mistake but i have a friend who did it and 1 thats about to do it. I actually grinded all the way to the warrior and chieftains without any premiums. After that i got the best purchase of my life the rooikat its one of the most fun tanks to use at 8.7

@@spray916TURM III will still be somewhat useful at 9.0 as well if you get both for grinding purposes so you’ll have a fairly robust lineup if you bring the Gepard, L/44, TURM III, and either the Leopard A1A1 or 1A5 (both are good)

Tam2IP literally doesn't have thermals which is why it sucks ass, which is the second redeeming attribute of the L44. The L44 is a 120mm gun as well compared to the Tam's 105, mostly one shots any tank it meets at 9.0 br.

do you think running the premium 2A4, the Tam 2IP and the A1A1 L/44 would be a good lineup if you wanna grind germany?

@@cheemsman6789 yes... 2a4 is very similar to 2pl but has slightly less armor. I would see if I could get the 2pl instead of the Tam. It's much better to play a leo 2 than a Tam. The 105mm is not as effective as the 120. But the big thing is the thermals.

It IS very fucking bad. Autocannons can go through the front of the turret. But you don't get the mobility for such a tradeoff.

Basically every tank that’s not Russian can neutral steer. That’s like saying “this car can drive.” Like yeah, I’d sure hope it can. Doesn’t exactly put it ahead of the competition tho

The gun is pretty good for the BR tho, all German tanks at 8.7 have the 105mm.

No not really -Tam2ip with dm33 is amazing at 8.7 -Leopard1a5 is quite comparable to the l44 -Bagel is just the jesus light tank right now -puma is great Etc 8.7-9.0 has such a fantastic lineup the l44 just isn't anything special anymore. Now the days where there was a major gap between the a1a1 and the 2k it was great... but now it just feels like an overpriced side grade

@@aratay3117 Glad I got it almost 2 years ago, it was quite strong at the time, also against others tier VI premium it's the best MBT imho. The gun it's wonderful, the mobility it's good and the survivability it's just fine (you don't need more than 13 APDSFSs) so for 60 $ absolutely not ( I got it by selling coupons on the Gaijin market when It was in sale) but still a good deal if you can get it without spending a cent

@@aratay3117 honestly I have no problem with that. If the L/44 is basically comparable to the 1A5 in every way, I’d say Gaijin did a wonderful job not shitting on everybody’s experience and keeping the game balanced

@@collander7766 actually they did shit on everyone's experience first. The l44 was added in 2018 back before a lot of powercreep so it was very very good. The leopard 1a5 was added in 2020 after they made the lions share of money from the l44. And because there was a gap in brs they would either have half of the teams covered in l44 noobs and I believe the highest br was like 10.0/10.3. So it was a disaster for german winrates

I rarely play that thing because the gun sucks. The 105 L7 has better pen but 60 bucks for a bit more spall? Nah.

Turm 3, because Begleit, Puma, M48 Super, Leo 1A5 is already forming a good lineup at 9.0. Leo L/44 (while having a good 120mm gun) at this BR bracket got powercreeped as hell, doesn't feel fun and reliable again since "everything" have apfsds and thermal too, while some have some armor to defend itself from autocannon, the Leopard L/44 (basically Leo 1) can't resist autocannon even frontally. Turm 3 at 8.0 have a good and unique armaments, also offers a better gameplay experience and have a place to fill a line up together with Marder 1A3, M48GA2, and Gepard. Source: trust me lmao, grinded german tech tree with leo l/44 but since around 3 years ago

@@athiftsabit1208 Oh I belive you. I just unlocked m48 and now grinding leo 1. I think i ill get the Turm 3. It fits much better in my lineup and doesn't leave a 0.7 BR breach on my tech tree.

I don't like them, they're fast and all but they lack armor and somewhat firepower. I rather play with the 120s

I agree with pretty much everything except saying you don't have a chance against abrams. You don't need to match their speed to get good positions, and killing an abrams even with a long 88 isn't difficult. If you can beat up an xm-1 the abrams isn't much of step up from that

For one, DM13 is not classified as “short rod” and does not in fact do less damage. It’s actually funny because the comments about short rod in this video are completely the opposite of what was said in the T-55amd video. Next, I don’t know how you come to the conclusion that a 19.3 hp/ton tank is sluggish at 9.0 when that’s pretty much average for an mbt. Sluggish is a chieftain, russian tank, m60, etc. Hm what else? Oh the armor values you give are like shots from the heavens with how high you have the camera. On a tank like this it doesn’t matter, but if you want to give good information you should make an effort to use line of sight numbers… Just a trend I’ve noticed. And calling the TAM 2IP worse is honestly a bad take but you can have your opinion.
