You did a great video on this star tracker. I’ve watched lots of reviews and yours was the first to mention the knobs and the Allen wrench concern. Thanks for the video.

I have the Skywatcher 2i. It works great. But I think it depends on the type of camera one has. If you have a crop sensor camera such as a Sony a6700 camera, you cannot take advantage of the preprogrammed functions such as remote control shutter intervals and other functions on the mode dial. You need a DSLR camera with an IR port plus the interface cable unique to the DSLR you have that plugs into the SNAP port on the tracker. Additionally, not all DSLRs have an IR port and some that do cannot be used with the Skywatcher. The instruction manual on page 7 shows which cameras are compatible with the Skywatcher remote shutter control functionality. So what this means is that if you do not have one of the compatible DSLR camera, three of the modes on the Mode Dial cannot be used: Astro Time Lapse Mode, Regular Exposure Time Lapse Mode, and Long Exposure Time Lapse Mode. You’ll have to set the time-lapse settings in the camera. The APP Mode dial lets you program and save any of those particular time-lapse settings plus do polar alignment from within the APP. I have the Sony a6700 and I use it with the Skywatcher for long exposure night time lapses with settings I manually set in the camera, it is a bummer I cannot use the full functionality of the Skywatcher with it. I think I’ll purchase an older cheap compatible DSLR that i can use with my existing lenses. This is not a complaint just an observation. I am happy with the Skywatcher. Great job!

I like my Star Adventurer. Particularly for mounting a DSLR with a 135mm lens. It's a quick and easy setup. However, having bought the Star Adventurer GTI about six weeks after that, I think the GTI offers quite an improvement for roughly $120 more.

Hi! I just wanted to encourage you to keep going with your channel. Full disclosure: I'm no expert on making KZfaq videos, but I've watched a huge number of them, so I do have opinions on what works and what doesn't. I think there's a place for some videos that sort of track your progress through the astrophotography learning curve in "real time". I watched your first 2 videos, in addition to this one, and I sense that's the path you started on (forgive me if I'm wrong). Thanks again for the video!

May I recommend a prompter? It's noticeable when you're reading your script, which in not really a big deal, but I hope that your channel grows and a prompter will help you look more "professional". Keep up the good work. I agree with you that the knobs on the star tracker feel cheap, and I always have and external battery available because I too left it on accidentally one time.
