@@mercedesb.1350 Yes and no. Technically you are not supposed to put your bag in the over head storage with blue basic. However, there was tons of overhead space on my flight so we put the baggage up top. That is a potential risk that you have to weigh. If you really want to put your bag overhead then I would suggest just upgrading the ticket to accomodate.

I fly on it all the time use veteran advantage get discount on top of the discount plus two checked bags free. No carry on just a back pack. But two huge bags check in Veterans ADvantage

I like to travel Blue Basic + Even More Space. This gives me a cheaper fare, plus I can bring a carry-on with the 'Even More Space' seat (which is a better seat too).

JetBlue seats are great, excellent leg room for me as I’m am tall- Even better is a isle seat right behind exit row as your seat will recline -Exit row seat will not recline in most cases

Thanks for the detailed video. I'm flying on the Blue Basic fare soon, and I've been worried if they will charge me for my backpack. Looks like it counts as a personal item. Thanks so much for the video! I have a Jet Blue basic flight to Costa Rica in two days and bought a small backpack the size indicated for the personal item but there is no way I can fit 10 days of clothes into it. I’m afraid I will be charged the fees with a bigger bag. The fees would come to an additional $500! So I am on the fence. Get a bigger bag and risk it? How many times have you done this with Blue Basic? Thanks again!

Thank you so much, we used a bookbag everytime and have never had any issues. The bag is bigger than the limits but it is always on our bag. as long as its a backpack you should be fine. We have flown jet blue blue basic over 20 times

You meant to say “checked bag” right? If I understand correct 1st checked bag - 65$ 2nd checked bag - 65$ 3rd checked bag - 180$ So if you were to check in 3 bags you would be paying 65+65+180=310$

I have flown jet blue probably 20 times in my life. My wife and I have never purchased a ticket before but have always sat together. It is not guaranteed but make sure you guys are all on the same reservation and it is more likely to happen

It depends on what class you are flying in. If you are flying blue basic. you will have to pay for both pieces of luggage. The only luggage that is included is a personal item, like abackpack

Exactly, it was designed to compete with the budget airlines like spirit and frontier with their no-frills packages. I only travel with a bookbag so it was not a problem for me at all

The carry ons used to be free, however, now they have a class called blue basic which does not allow carryons. Just personal items.

Most of the 40L backpacks I see online are bigger than the dimensions stated by jetblue. Did they ask you to fit your bag into those baggage checks at check in ?

yes, what you are saying is correct. The dimensions are typically bigger. That is why I showed the dimensions in this video. Nobody checked my bags at check-in for my flight going to Saint Lucia and also coming back

I think thats a personal preference, We never have flown with blue and have always had a great experience and saved money. However, if you have luggage it is definitely better to fly with blue

That is why I made this video and showed you guys the bag that I use. I fly with them all the time and as long as the backpack is on your bag it is never a problem. When I board, I just put the bag overhead and have no issues

Depending on where you are going the checked bag fee is different. However, per their website the first checked bag is $35 www.jetblue.com/help/checked-bags

It depends if you are flying internationally or not. If you are flying to another country that requires it, they did for us. If it is domestic you do not need to have the vaccine card.

I'm actually going on a flight with Blue basic this Friday but I'm a bit worried and need help, I've bought this Adidas duffel bag for my personal item bag, but when I do the measurements, I see that it passes the dimensions rule my duffel bag is 23.4 L, 18.8 W, and 9.5 H do you guys think this will be a huge problem? Don't wanna go to the airport and have to pay a fee if that's the case, will love to hear your guys response, thank you! 🙏🏼

Thank you so much for reaching out and checking out our video. We have flown with jet blue almost 40 times. In my experience, as long as the bag is on your back, you do not have anything to worry about.
