I wish I would have watched this before creating my new IG. I started KZfaq 3 years ago and I felt bad for adding hair related content to my personal IG because I felt like I was forcing my friends/followers to follow a hair page when it was originally just a personal page. I kind of like having two now though because all KZfaq content goes in one place and people are following it!

Loved how you addressed this question. I think creating business accounts (when it’s appropriate) and having a proper brand story associated with it is crucial to overall business success, especially if you are selling a product. This was super helpful, as you always are! I have decided to FINALLY start creating content for KZfaq and was trying to decide whether I wanted to create a separate instagram account for my youtube channel. After watching, i've decided to keep my personal account and sort of rebrand it a little, since my content will be more of a lifestyle channel anyway and showcase a lot of my personal interests and goals anyway. Hey Erin!!! Keep doing ya thang girl!!! I'm loving all of it! But I actually have three Instagram Pages. Let me explain, I have a mobile dog grooming business with one of my best friends so we run that together. I then have a separate account for my dog grooming abilities and trying to promote my new KZfaq channels that I am starting in the new year and my regular personal page. So it's a lot but I'm willing to invest my time in my pages so people can see my new KZfaq channel and try to keep it cohesive. Thanks to your videos I have the courage to start this Channel and become super super successful in 2020! Thanks girl!!

Thank you for that video! I had already figured to do a separate Instagram from my personal. You brought up extremely good points about why and why not have a different channel. I was actually looking for a video regarding setting up another account on an Android phone. There are some videos but none of them have the current Instagram updates, so will be probably working that out on my own. 😬! Also... Hi Erin, this video is great and really helpful answering this question. Honestly I'm a social media newb and one of these guys that's kind of avoided social media in general. However I'm dipping my toe in and thought this video was really insightful and well presented. For now I think I'm going for a separate account since my side hustle is largely product driven and my existing SM accounts are mostly just old friends and family. Thank you again.

I did the same as you and changed my personal account into a business account for the exact same reasons ( already known for it, same audience, etc). Glad to know I'm not the only one. If I had an actual personal page, I would never use it lol

Loved your transparent explanation and made decision to not opening and B-acc instead going for expand aa change a little bit my own. The question is due to unrelated posts and people (my concern) private works or better to be make it public. Yes, this is my business account! Throughout college I wrote a blog on productivity and study tips with printables I'd share. I'm still good at that content, it has just shifted to language learning more than school. Because I'm an engineer in tech and that content is VERY different.

Im so glad I found your channel !! Very good information. I have 2 Instagram accounts . Right now I’m a health coach student so one account will be for health coaching but I also want to create a blog where I will also share nutrition stuff , life style and more personal stuff. And idk if for the blog I should just keep it in my personal account but idk how to work with both accounts when one is a nutrition brand and the other will be more on blogging and personal.

I want to change my personal page to my business name and create a new page for myself . My current audience is also in line with what my website is about but , I honestly don’t want to be a Marie formal...I would much rather own Huffington post . Look at your business IG from your personal and see if it says a comparable number under the bio that says “So & so follows this” it indicates whether anyone you follow follows that page so I think if the number is similar it will make the choice clear. ?? I didn’t explain this well. But update me because I’m also curious what you chose to do

I'm debating whether or not I should create a new ig account. While I am getting more engagement now, I've noticed that a lot of my followers that I currently have are not people I want following my brand (sounds kinda harsh, but hear me out). In other words, they're not my ideal audience. A lot of them are people I've went to high school and college with and honestly, they're a part of my not so good past (my ratchet days lol). While I have a good amount of followers, I feel like I would have even more followers as well as have more engagement and recognition if I had a different audience. Something in me is telling me to create a new account and add my desired audience members. I just don't want to start all over again from scratch. I currently have 1940 something followers. What should I do? Stick through it or start all over again?

I feel the same way. I feel like my personal followers will just be on my KZfaq page to be nosy and judge and not support so much. I have a separate page but I will probably be more personal on it.

@danielleking @bedivorcedivas I'd be happy about 1940 followers :D I know exactly what you mean, but I also think there is a way to get your desired audience by just keep on going and the "right" followers who can relate to your content will come automatically. Don't mind the other people, they are actually not doing anything that holds you back right? Often it's our own thoughts that make us feel uncomfortable when we worry about what XY might think. If they still follow you, there must be a reason. Even if they're just nosy und judging and not supportive - they still get you views, right? :D There will always be people judging you, especially when you are a content creator and exposed on the internet. I guess the only thing you can do is to not care about them but to stay focused on your own business and be proud of yourself. What's your opinion on that? Since your comment is already a year old, I'd like to know how you decided about wether getting a new IG account because I'm currently thinking about this :)

I appreciate the useful information. I had a question about the $20 a month group that you are launching. If I want to try it for a while, but am not sure I will keep the membership would I be able to cancel at anytime if I wanted to? Would there be any cancellation fees?

Hi Erin! Thank you for making this video. I have started in photography a couple of years ago but sometimes I see some photographers on instagram that have an specific theme in the accounts and others that post everything. I mean some photographers just post portraits or couples and others the same but landscapes, travels and nature too. Is that correct? I'm having troubles or doubts with it. I really love nature but for business sometimes I take photos to some portraits and couples. So can I have one account for all type of photography or it's better separate and what if I also have pictures of my family, girlfriend and that stuff. Thank you and sorry!

It may sound like a silly question but do employees still look at social media? I don’t have any crazy pics but I do have a KZfaq channel and run an Instagram based on it. Should I get rid of evidence on my FB just in case they look?
