You can use 2k clear coat to give it the shine after without sanding. The bunk acrylic clears don’t shine unless you polish it.

Love it another reason why cheap Miatas are the best you did a great job painting this and great presentation keep it up my friend

And more folks are going this route, including me. I panted my 98 Chevy obs truck with rustoleum sail blue it came out looking great. This young brother is absolutely correct if you have a car or truck you love but don't have the money for 1000 dollars. Paint job, but want it to look good. This is a great option just take the time and prep and paint one panel at a time it will come out great I'm going to put a 2k rattle can clear coat on it. Good job young brother

Shit old miatas are cash down here in California now couple years ago I got em for 1500 now they are 10k plus

So you didn’t sand to bare metal? I’m looking to rattle can my car this summer and I’m not sure if I should go to bare metal or not. I have some rust spots too

Depends on the condition of your paint, if you have rust spots yes to bare metal and then if you have any body work to do also get that area to metal. But other than that, you shouldn’t have to sand the entire car to bare metal

I did my 98 chevy c1500 obs rustoleum sail blue spray paint scuffed it with 220 sand paper not to bare metal just took off the old clear coating used 8 cans of paint no primer paint held up through last year heat wave of triple digits and this year storms there is no peeling paint still has a decent shine a coat of 2k clear will make it even better
