I host parties from time to time and who gets invited depends on the vibe of the party. I have some friends who will use their outdoor voices indoors, so they might only get invited to gatherings that are in the yard. I have friends from the world of running who may not enjoy being around my friends who don't enjoy sports. If some of my friends are bringing their kids, I won't invite my friends who either don't like children or do not know how to act appropriately around children. I don't love these people any less but I won't explain myself to them. Parties go on that I am not invited to and my feelings never get hurt about that. Grow Up!

Parties go on whether you host a party or someone else host a party. So that means you get to decide who you invite. If you wanted to get invited, you cannot be available to host your own party because you cannot be in 2 places at once. A lot of people would think in their heads something like I want to be invited but then forgot to look at their position. They aren't available to go because that person is hosting their own party.

Most likely the friendship is over. The good friend could of told her I am having a party but its its only for a few persons. I have to find out about it though social media. I had a friend posted her invite on her what's app status. So I said the invite was not for me. I felt like if her and I is so close has friends why she didn't tell me. I just said it was not for me. Moved on with my life.

Since parties is not considered a scheduled meeting anyways, I would of just go like that invite was not for me. Good decision.

We live on a farm in Iowa. During winter, the day temp is....65 at night, Blizzard weather you do not stand a chance to be warm no matter what!!!

But it does not relate to speaking up about being left out of a friend's party? We all have struggles in our lives. So if there is a temperature problem in your farm, then you don't need to explain yourself about missing out the party.

You should have a list of all the people who go to the potluck and set the dates and the the house on paper. If those two couples don't want to host it at their house then you all go out to a restaurant and pay for your own meals when it's their turn.

Allowing the friends to be separated will make them stronger individually. As for the potluck couple, maybe they don't have adequate furnishings to host. Or maybe they feel their home isn't up to par as the others. It's not a big deal. Get over it. So with the party girl. Her perception of close friend may be different from her "close friend." One feels they are besties, while the other just friends.

Id tell you your house is a bit too hot for me and do you know what the temperature is in here? Could you please turn the thermostat down a bit? If its cold outside and the house is too hot for me and I spend the night i just open the window and close the vent in my room.

You never confront with a question. That gives them a reason to answer yes or no. Pose your statement with no option to give a answer 😊

If you aren't that popular, statements don't work. Because giving them no option to answer is more like if you invite yourself without their consent, you aren't giving them an option to answer no. You can't say like I am coming. So in this situation, it is best not to even talk about the party and walk away from that person. If that person initiates inviting you, then only you have an option to give yes or no answer. Either way, you also must give them a power to be in charge with decisions as well. People who do not want to even go to a party does not require making a statement. Once you choose not to confront them, mind as well ditch the statement and leave them alone.
