I agree I had great results with creatine in the past. But think about this.... If creatine is synthetic what is it synthesized from? The creatine is not from meat it is from a chemical process that takes place between chemicals that are by products of mining and gas industries. Try and figure this out and you will find out this is a major pr secret of the synthetic creatine supplement industry.

I'm in my 70's now and have almost always lifted weights, at my peak I would cycle creatine. Creatine would put 10 pounds of body weight on (water in the muscle) and add 30 pounds to my bench press, not just a single lift but sets with that 30 Lb. increase... One thing to note: you can get major flatulence and digestive upset so try this at home first.

Technically no problem, but I doubt there are any studies have been done for kids this age. Creatine just gets peed out once your muscles are saturated. I believe some population groups might have issues with kidney issues (Pacific Islanders), but not proven. Where I would say be careful is pre workout supplements. Many (30%+) have been found to contain SARMs (select androgen receptor modifiers)… steroids are blanket androgen modifiers, so very similar effects. Supplements are NOT regulated, and sarms are not illegal. So make sure it’s pure creatine from a reputable brand.

@@simonspacek8288 Scientific studies can miss a lot due to many factors, especially including design and questions asked to participants. Have there been any studies specifically on athletes that run and cut (football, basketball, etc.) looking directly at tendon and ligament strength w & w/out creatine supplementation? Because I have not seen it. All I can tell you is my direct experience and my knowledge of friends and friends of friends who were football players and directly attribute their acl tears to creatine.

As I see it, creatine is an essential supplement to take on a daily basis to maintain a healthy lifestyle. However, instead of taking 100% of the recommended amount (5 grams per day) for some time and then stopping, I believe it is better to take 2 grams daily, complemented by a healthy, natural diet. If humans only get optimal creatine by eating a couple pounds of meat, isn't that strong evidence that an optimally healthy diet is based on eating exclusively or almost entirely meat? And if eating fruit and juices or other vegetable foods are displacing intake of important animal-based nutrients, isn't that strong evidence you're eating too many plant foods?

A 5 year study is not long enough for me. I agree that taking creatine as a supplement has benefits, but what about the long-term side effects such as kidney damage and eventually kidney failure? I went out and bought some creatine because I watched this video to try it out again, but it doesn't agree with me. I get these chemical tasting burps, and when I muscle tested it, my body said no, so it went in the bin. Trust your own intuition, and don't listen to anyone but your own body because it knows best.

Creatine is one of the most studied supplements on the market since the 90's. How did you take creatine when you used it? Personally I wouldnt reccomend 'loading' creatine, for me its best taking the 3.5g with water daily to avoid any side effects. Also what type of Creatine did you buy? Theres alot of terrible brands out there, Micronized Creatine is one of the best you can take - I use Optimum Nutrition unflavoured for the last 2 years with only benefits noticed. Muscle size and strength after 5-6 weeks of daily intake is atleast 15-20% more.

Most if not all powdered supplements are not bioavailable. Synthetic or processed forms of creatine, protein or any other nutrient are not going to be digested and more than likely it will just be ejected from your body with every bowel movement, undigested. Essentially, your doing nothing but wasting your money. All your nutritional needs come from whole real foods. If you are deficient any carbs, fats, or proteins, trying to obtain these things from supplementation is only going to lead to more problems long term. Don't put yourself on a restrictive diet in the first place. Without simple and complex carbs as well as dietary fiber, your bodies ability to digest and absorb nutrients is going to be compromised. You are then trying to solve one problem with another problem.
