We had never visit Morecambe before, but after a top day out there, we decided to make this ultimate guide of the top things to do and see in Morecambe.

The Stone Jetty - We take a look down the Stone Jetty and look at all of the sights, including the compass, the tidal bell and the old station house lighthouse.
The Platform - We do visit the Platform in Morecambe, but it wasn't open this day, so we just admire it from outside.
Way Of The Roses Bike Ride - We feature this, but don't take part.
Morecambe Promenade - We take a lovely stroll up and down the Morecambe Promenade, taking in the sights around.
The Festival Market - We take a look around the famous Morecambe Festival Market and Wills discovers Christmas - again!!!

Welcome to the official Postcard & A Pint KZfaq channel.
Postcard & A Pint was thought up by my partner, Rachel & myself, Wills one day while taking our daily 1 hour exercise during the lockdown of 2020. All of a sudden, we were spending more time together, not working 6 or 7 days a week in the arts industry, and binge watching travel programs, and we were actually really enjoying it, and it made us re-evaluate what was important in life for us. Now back to working 6 or 7 days a week again, with very little time off, our happy time is getting out there on our brief times off together and making short travel videos that we are now sharing with you. Gosh its been about thirty years since I last visited Morecambe! Great impressions of the fells! Great find with the book shop. The Kings Arms looked a decent place for lunch. Wow that rundown section looked a bit scary, almost gives us a run for our money. Heysham Sands is quite quaint, just noticed the sign! The jetty and fair looked nice! Wow the Winter Gardens is a lovely step back in time. Incredible story about the buy back of the original seats! Great views over the town from up there! You have presented a fascinating insight into the theatre!

Never ventured to Morecombe ourselves, but we would certainly go for a mooch around after watching your lovely video. The south beach was lovely and we are sure would look even nicer in the sun 🌞 ⛱️. Lots of really nice places to eat, bonus 😋. The tour around the winter Gardens was fab, what a heart warming project that this means so much to the community they are all pitching in to help restore it🥰. Ah Morecombe and wise, who didn't have those two on the telly at Christmas time, made us feel nostalgic too😊. The Winter Garden was fantastic and it's wonderful that it's a community project that is being restored. That's how you know that a town has really strong community spirit, when volunteers can take on a big project because it's important to the town. I'd love to see it when it's finished as well.

As a resident of Morecambe and a former resident of Blackpool, I can honestly say that Morecambe is MUCH nicer than Blackpool! 😊

Hand on heart we love both. Blackpool has its own charm, but we loved our day on Morecambe - it had such a nostalgic feel and it feels like a place that has been neglected but is fighting back strong!!! We will definitely visit again. Cheers for watching 🍻

Ahh, this was fun! Loved the old pier bookshop. What a treasure trove of delight! There didn't seem to be many people walking along the prom - maybe because of the weather? Loved the tour of the Winter Gardens and its theatre. What a magnificent building. Let's hope the restoration continues and they can eventually bring it back to its former glory. Ah, lovely Eric Morecombe. Always watched Morecombe and Wise every Christmas. Classic! Glad to hear that Morecombe is up and coming and that you enjoyed your trip. I enjoyed it too!🤗❤

Ahh Morecambe. Such a lovely seaside town. We stopped off en route to the Lakes a few years ago. It looked a bit tired but I loved it. The architecture was lovely, lots of art deco and the Winter Gardens, wow!

So great to see Morecambe is on the up. I had lots of family holidays as a kid there in the 70's/80's when it was like a smaller version of Blackpool. Its been through hard times since then, but is great to see it reinvent itself as different type of destination.

Ah guys so good to see Morecambe as we haven't seen much of English seaside towns ( or anywhere except North Wales hehe) so this was good to watch. Love how you found the 2p machines again 😄 The old station was intetesting to see and the historic stone jetty was too, and so good that the Winter Gardens is being rescued. Amazing that the seats got found and bought back ! That looks like a nice place and must be even better in the sunshine, at least you didn't get rain here ! ~ Anna 👍

Great video. I live by lake Windermere but I travel to Morecambe for my days out. I have a season ticket for Morecambe fc and I recommend seeing a game there as the club have great facilities. The promenade is 4 miles long so it's well worth bringing the bikes and parking up out of town to cycle all the way to Heysham. Also when you visit and stop over you can watch some great tribute acts at The Platform. 👍

Ha, I never knew that Eric Morecombe took his stage name from the town. And what a town. Rhyll it ain't. That 170 mi bike ride didn't sound too bad until I saw the metric conversion. 274 km. They're dreamin'. The Stickle story was brilliant! Cocklaw 😂That was a brilliant bookshop too. Presumably the dog menu was for dogs and not of dogs? You never know with the English. Speaking of which, I looked at a map. You're well into England. Halfway to Scotland. Begorrah. Helluva a day trip. The theatre was amazing. We have a couple of old theatres like that - still in use. One, the Palais in St Kilda, is an amazing old art deco theatre. It is quite incredible to go see a band like the last band I saw there, The Flaming Lips, in a historic art deco theatre. Joan Plowright was/is a legend in her own right. I had no idea she had Lawrence Olivier as a handbag for a time. Speaking of legends, when I was a kid we only had 2 TV channels. One, the ABC, was just chock full of M&W, the Two Ronnies, Kenny Everett, The Goodies etc etc etc. So, yep, we grew up on Eric and Ernie. Great work you legends.

I have been to Morecambe! Years ago friends took me to the Lake District and we stopped there for lunch I think. The memory that stayed with me of the town was the Victoria era guest houses all next to each other. Still open for people to stay in, I thought it was all so quaint.

I remember the old joke that they didn't bury the dead in morecambe they stood them up in bus shelters. On a serious note Gerrys fishing tackle shop is probably the best in the northwest.

I'm from Lancaster and Morecambe but now live in Prestatyn, Morecambe is on the up because of the Bay TV show,the Eden project and the publicity Tyson Fury has given to the Town

Reading about it’s history, it does seem to have had a bad time. I think the community is really pulling together now and worth the new Eden project, it will be back on the map! Cheers for watching 🍻

We only discovered Morecambe last year & ended up buying a caravan there 😀 Now our little space of escapism. Worth a visit for the spectacular sunsets alone but with the upcoming Eden Project, def a place to visit

I've never been to Morcambe and it might be a change from visiting Blackpool. If the Eden project gets underway it will be fantastic for the town, I've been to the one in Cornwall and that is such a fantastic attraction. I believe the one for Morcambe is appropriately focusing on marine ecology which will be great. Th Winter Gardens looks like a fantastic community project, well done to those involved. As for the bookshop - that looks like a dangerous place to take my Mrs. Oh and Wills if you are ever in Alnwick, Northumberland, check out Barter Books.

We’ve not been to the Eden project, a more coastal one sounds incredible. I hope it does happen. Yes, that theatre is amazing and there’s such a sense of community about the saving of it. Yes it was definitely a change from Blackpool and a lovely day out. Cheers 🍻

Hopefully in a couple of years time it will be a Mecca again, like it was decades ago, as we will be getting our own Eden Project built, which in turn should change the face of our town.

Yes there has been a lot of negative, silly in my opinion, reaction to The Eden Project coming through in the nxt few years(ready approx end of 26). PPL just need to envisage the bigger picture and knock on effect tourism wise, as there is so much potential, and recently the Gov threw 2.5 mil at the Winter Gardens, which tour you brilliantly show cased, so there is obviously some confidence there too.@@PostcardAndAPint

We read about that whilst we were there, but weren’t sure if it was the same thing as the Eden Project in Cornwall. We’ve got everything crossed it really helps as Morecambe is a beautiful seaside town. Cheers for watching 🍻

It is the same as the one in Cornwall. I think they have secured a large amount of funding from the National Lottery. Mark my words it will be a huge success. @@PostcardAndAPint
