Good video bro! I’m an external hire for Store Manager and start next Thursday, never been in food industry so I’m looking forward to it. Was a general manager at health clubs prior, any advice before I dive in? Much appreciated boss!

Thank you so much, I really do appreciate that. As far as advice goes: - Problems will come, especially within the food industry, and you’ll be faced with very problematic situation, but just think win-win. Fix whatever the customer’s issue is and move on to the next customer as soon as possible. - Schedule extra on Saturday (inventory count day) and Friday (always busy) because people will CALLOUT, so be aware of that and be as proactive as you can about that. - The job will be pretty stressful when you start off, but remember to take a deep breath and be grateful for the opportunities you have in life to have a peace of mind. Ofc! Also, I believe you have a high chance based on how your interview goes and if your previous job experience relates to PX. Also, it also has to do with your availability and if they’re short staffed as well

I'm considering applying for a Store Manager role - have prior experience in a fast-paced food environment. If you don't mind sharing - what does a store manager's ideal/expected schedule look like? And how many hours of OT are required? Thank you!

So the ideal schedule is 4-5 days a week with 2 coming from (Fri-Sun) Also for store manager, the required hours is 45 minimum hours a week (5-10 hours of overtime), so 50 max usually if something doesn’t cause you to come in more days. Best of luck!

How flexible is the schedule? Like taking a week off, or 1/2 days off a month in advance

This is why I love this job, it’s extremely flexible, you can request off, but 3 weeks ahead of time

What would you say is the toughest part of being an assistant?

The hardest part is being expected to do everything the General Manager does and depending on your GM, they may even have you do more of the manual labor (deep cleaning), rather than themselves. So if you go for AM, go for GM as well.
