*On the one side of our bed it is super narrow to get in and out and making it is a pain **MyseIf.Furniture** and our sheets tend to always want to pull off to one side until eventually it pops off in the middle of the night. With these, I've not had a single issue since! My fighter sheet stays exactly where I want it now! I wish I had bought these forever ago! Definitely recommend.*

I bought a set of "Forearm Forklift" straps several years ago and they have worked out fantastically. It's amazing how much easier it is to move heavy things, especially those things that don't have any sort of handles (like bookcases). It literally feels like the object weighs 1/4 as much as trying to lift with just your hands and arms. The Forearm Forklift is about 1/2 the price, but if you are moving a lot of stuff with it, I would suggest getting the shoulder dolly. The harness looks like it would be substantially easier to use and much more comfortable.

Yes, use Shoulder Dolly. We bought them at Princess Auto and my wife and I moved a front load washer today. They were awesome!!

lol... That's Thomas Dent in the video. He was the inventor of the Shoulder Dolly. Robert Manciero shot this at our house in Glendale just before he died back in 2010. I think Robert did some videos for you guys too.
@jamescarroll69544 жыл бұрын
As regards avoiding swaying, one of the things you guys did very well was to not be "in step" while moving. I think you'd be more likely to wobble if one guy's right foot was leading, and the guy walking backward was leading with his left. Easy to see you guys have done this before--you're a good team.

Do items tip off the dolly easily or is it pretty secure once it's on the straps?
@BillyCarmen7 жыл бұрын
The items balance on the straps and allow easy gripping by hand to keep them steady. Once you lift the item it is like dancing with it. You quickly learn the balance and moving therefore allowing a every easy way to lift and carry.

@6:25 tip your piece... tipping it dangerously because if its top heavy, nobody is stopping it from tipping over and if one or both apply too much pressure it will fall over and no one will save it. this is quite a handy tool for inexperienced people or people who arent acustomed to lifting something heavy for movers however applying this takes 5 times the time it takes to get any piece anywhere... but thats the point of it all, its ment for non professionals. a washing machine weighing 230 pounds goes up 2 stairs in 1 minute when professionals do it getting the harness prepped and getting acustomed to it takes 10-20 minutes, but then again, someone inexperienced with heavy lifting wont even get it up 2 stairs without such a tool
@musicjunkie4217 жыл бұрын
Ok but what if the object is too heavy to get the strap under it? I have to move some hospital beds that have no wheels
@ajscout7 жыл бұрын
Slip the first couple inches of the plate of a two wheel dolly under the side of the bed. That will give you the leverage you need to lift (by pushing down on the handle of the dolly) the bed up just enough to slip the strap underneath.
@mrgreatauk4 жыл бұрын
Great system, but I think you need a better system for holding the excess strap length - can see it falling down at 9:41, which would surely be a bit of a trip hazard!

I've found the current info. It is no longer made by the original manufacturer mentioned in the video (pre 2008). The current version has subtle changes . See Home Depot: Pro Lift Shoulder Dolly Professional for the version closest to the video or find the "Pro Lift" model in the website: shoulderdolly.com/. Sadly, the person featured in the video, Thomas E. Dent III, died unexpectedly in 2008.

@@Din05aur I saw that too when I googled him. Sad. Ingenious invention. We got a freezer delivered from Sears like 10 years or so ago, and the delivery guys used this type of thing and I was amazed, had never seen one, thought it was ingenious. Made it easy for them to haul the freezer down some steps to my basement.
