He is fully playable in Rivals of Aether, a fantastic platform fighter available on Steam and Xbox One. As a roster character, not a custom workshop character.

@@bloodykenshiro8218 this is the literal opposite of mighty no. 9, not only did they fulfill their obligations, but the game was so good they were able to make (this is before dig releases) 4 other games just from people who can't get enough shovel knight.

That dining hall stage would make a neat setup for some kind of ironman gamemode. Every time someone gets defeated, their next character jumps up from the table, like the boss rush in the main game.

Can I just comment on how greatly Yacht Club uses their guest characters? Like, Baz's character is consistent, Reize is an important character, Phantom Striker gets cool banter each DLC, and Mr. Hat gets the be character that basically has stance switching. Most games would make their guest characters, like, a background cameo, but Yacht Club gives them the spotlight and the respect they deserve. (Or don't deserve, such as Baz. If Baz is ever respected in a game he's in, then that's not really Baz, let's be honest.)

I think the roster might have been decided early on considering that every character was in SoH, and characters exclusive to the other campaigns like luan and Percy didn’t make it. The only exception being dark reize

I find it kind of weird that the bard isnt a character. he seems like he'd be in the roster, considering we got two standard enemies as characters, alongside mona and sheild knight who both have a TON of new sprites!

I heard that there was going to be 22 characters so I see -Shovel Knight -Plague Knight -Specter Knight -King Knight -Black Knight -Shield Knight -Mona (best gurl) -Polar Knight -Mole Knight -Treasure Knight -Propeller Knight -Tinker Knight -Reize -Dark Reize -Baz -Phantom Striker -Goldarmor (The hero of this tale) -Liquid Samurai -Mr Hat (imma main this amazing man) -The Enchantress Perhaps I’m wrong but isn’t this 20 maybe just maybe there is 2 characters that they are keeping secret so people can enjoy the surprise of finding them (Bard Knight pls happen) but I might be wrong and we are only getting 20 which is still great thanks so much Yacht Club

Its interesting how the two character that are based off of normal enemies still have a noteworthy trait, goldarmor is defensive, while liquid samurai is swift and versatile.

Holy crap, great job guys. Definitely making me consider picking up the Trove for my Switch or PS4 so I can play this along with the rest(again, only downside of owning the 3DS version, eh?). This game definitely shows you guys put SO much effort into whatever you make, cuz analyzing these character highlights definitely got me thinking on how to best play the characters(especially coming from competitive Smash Bros). Can't wait to see what kind of genius you guys are gonna pump out in the future! Best of luck in all your endeavors!

@@CrescentMint It's a game about facing the truth, and the main cast are attacked in a different dimension where their worst sides come out. Because of the embarrassment of being seen like that, they often openly deny the truth, hence the "you're not me" line the OP was referencing. The shadows (ugly depths of their personality) draw power from the denial of truth and try to encourage it, hence the whole "say it again" thing.

I'm very pleased with the cast of this game and all the work put into it. Definitely looking forward to trying out Liquid Samurai, Reize, Phantom Striker, Dark Reize, Mole Knight, Black Knight, and Goldarmor. Specter Knight and Plague Knight, too.

Mole Knight, Propeller Knight, and Tinker Knight*, all lack ways to destroy dirt blocks directly below them, making The Plains impossible to complete. Beyond that, yeah, they all could do it. Edit: Mobile Gear destroys dirt, Tinker could do it

Maybe one could mod in the ability to dig up dirt as mole knight by using his digging maneuver and, when he gets out of it, breaking the dirt? It could be similar to how Specter Knight does it in his campaign.

Maybe that's his most well kept secret. I mean, technically Mr. Hat was supposed to be Shovel Knight himself until YCG changed things around. SK was supposed to get the helms of defeated bosses and immitate their skills.
