This Show (2506) on Precision Piecing has changed my quilting life. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I made "Metropolis" from Splendid Sampler 2. Every piece in it had points except the center block. With precision piecing they came out with perfect points and all seams matched. Yes, I made two blocks at once. Alex and Ricky, thank you for all you do for the quilting community.

I’m so glad someone from my local quilt guild linked this video on our fb page! What fantastic techniques & tips 👍 Truly brilliant stuff I’m from southern Alberta & can get the supplies there but I’m also going to ask the store owner to bring in your book Bernie. I’ve never had sewing machine information explained so well 👏 Thank you!

This couple is awesome! I just bought Shelley’s book, got Bernie’s book on my Christmas list, bought the glue, and planning to get the starch alternative. 😍

I swear by Seam Align and Acorn precision piecing flattening liquid for piecing anything 1.5 inch and below; and for blocks that are 6 1/2” UF and less. Makes the world of difference in accuracy. Glad to finally know who came up with this wonder. Thanks for the book and these absolutely wonderful products. The quilting world owes you. I really wish the host would stop cutting into and off their conversation. They seem to be gentle and quiet people who are purposeful and accurate in their speech. Let them speak uninterrupted please and stop grabbing at what she has in her hands. I love that advice about putting the cut at the top of the cut line then cutting the full length.

Wonderfully detailed information! This answered a lot of questions I've had for years. I had figured out long ago that pins are more trouble than help. I've been piecing with nothing, just holding the fabric together. I tried using a header but still had the problem of veering off at the edge. I've tried other glues, but they bled through. This is a superior product and the video shows exactly how to use it. Thanks for posting this.

Brilliant. Thank you, All. I love Shelley's sense of humor. Besides the sewing products going on my wish list, so is Alex's topper. The curved pieces, colors, cuffs. I love it!

Very helpful information was given here. I usually have been using larger needles because my thread was shredding, so this little discussion was an eye-opener. And certainly the first part was wonderful.

Me and bestie You’re welcome! If you search Easy Precision Piecing, it’ll pop up in various quilting sites, but most were out of stock. I did find one site that had it in stock but only after I found it on Amazon and had already placed the order.

I absolutely LOVE Alex & Ricky. This technique has me falling in love with Berni & Shelley as well! Thank you so much for this information; I'm planning on purchasing both books and the Precision Piecing products. I'm sure there will be a "Class" coming up using your techniques Shelley. What a wonderful book on machines too, Bernie! I would love to tell the owner of the quilt store I work at about your products. Do you wholesale? (Please say yes! lol)

I really loved watching this show. I not only sew but I have to know how my machine works so that I can do the quick fixes on the fly to complete my projects. I need to know where to oil and never put oil etc. Thank you!

Wow, wow, wow! This show was excellent. I am so frustrated with tension issues on my Bernina 830. The professional resolves any tension issues at the store; however, when sewing at home the stitches are still messed up. Hopefully all those tips will help me.

Very good video. Loved the lessons on tension. I wish they had used matching diagonal seams so your points line up exactly and you don't lose them as an example, they are so difficult. What happens with all that glue in the quilt when it's finished? Is the quilt stiff? Does the glue wash out? I'd like to know more about it.
@bernietobisch996
@bernietobisch996 5 жыл бұрын
The glue leaves no hard or sticky dot of glue. It is totally water soluble. The quilt is not stiff, washed or not.

This one of my pet peeves The way people use machines they do not care properly For their machines. They gun the machines Every time they start to go. They cause the machines to tighten the thread . Two things happen they tighten the thread and the tread stretches. Then the fabric gets the abuse It distorts the fabric It can mean the Shape or the size of piece of fabric changes. The blocks of thread are smaller. Then these same people say they don't Understand why their work looks the way it does. The answer is they are stupid. Cutting The pieces 1/8 larger and trimming them down is a perfect way to keep the blocks the same. I love my Viking machine and don't know much about Bernini.
