Thank you SO MUCH for recording this group! They've been favorites of mine for a long time! A word of positive advice when capturing dancers (sooo many have gotten away from this). I am a dancer and taught for many years, as well as a photographer. With dynamic groups like this, there are so many details - never more so apparent than with Parris' creations. Go back to the technique Fred Astaire pioneered generations ago. Keep the framing pulled back so that the dancers are all shown full body. We want to see the dance, rather than facial expressions with no full context. I see you've done that mostly, but focus moves in and out as the camera shifts. Parris gives you an extra challenge because she choreographs fast transitions, nuanced movements that make full impact only when expressed through multiple bodies, and fills the entire stage with interesting elements that help tell the story. The best bet is to remain pulled back, work to incorporate the entire stage to minimize losing crucial elements happening on the sides of the stage that impact the main dancers in the center. Thank you again for recording and sharing your work - we all reeeeally appreciate you!!
