Personally I would build the ceremony on a platform above the track and field. Then I don’t need to worry about putting it all down!

Doesn't the field have to used the next day after the opening ceremony for competition? This can't be all changed in one night.

No, track starts the second week and stops 2 days before the closing.

Between the opening ceremony ending and the completion of turf-laying, the sun passes over the stadium at 1:06, 1:35, 2:04, and part-way again from 2:31 !
